So I finished my first year at Indiana and will be a sophmore this coming semester. I didn't really think about fraternities at all freshman year but living in McNutt, a lot of people did and I regret not joining one. A lot of my friends have talked to me and have talked me into it. I'm just wondering if here are any fraternities that never accept sophomores and are there some that accept many. I'm pretty open but they need to have their house on campus.

A lot of houses will accept SOME sophomores–mostly ones that already have connections with a number of brothers. The houses that accept the most sophomores are unhoused chapters. Are you close friends (I mean hang out regularly, they know your name and what you’re about) with more than just one guy in a given chapter?

If a chapter only takes 5 sophomores and there are 5 rushees who have hung out at the house in the past/know brothers and you are a newbie…you won’t be one of the 5 sophomores that chapter pledges.

Also, don’t limit yourself JUST to top tier chapters, because that is a recipe for disaster
