so i just registered to rush (a sorority) a couple days ago, and i just had a few questions:

do i need to actually prepare something (like a resume or a list of activities, etc) to give to the houses when rush week comes?

what exactly do we do during rush week? the website says there is a mutual selection that occurs throughout the weeks and everything, but how exactly does it work? what kinds of questions are asked?

how hard it is to receive a pledge?

Anxious: Calm down, the only thing you need to know about rush is to bring yourself. Just be yourself and you’ll find the house you feel most comfortable at.

Calgirl: There are plenty of threads around here that list the reps of each of the PHC houses. If you asked me this question about two to three years ago, I’d easily be able to answer it. However, now I cannot as things change in the Greek System all the time.

I am not part of a sorority, nor did I rush, but many of my friends did.

I think during Rush, you and all the girls get to visit each sorority, introduce yourselves as well as socialize and learn more about them, and attending socials, dinners, pretty much their events. As the week passes, you’ll narrow it down to your favorite sororities. You will get ‘closer’ to them, and when the week ends I think you find out what sororities chose you, and you can decide whether or not to pledge.

This information I learned my from my friend who is currently in Delta Gamma… I believe that’s the gist of it. Hope you have fun!

Although I have heard these events keep you busy after classes during Rush Week, so don’t get too tired out!
