I'm a freshmen girl at Cornell and I was thinking about rushing. I really don't know that much about sororities, other than a few rumors circulating throughout the school. I know there was an old thread on this, but because sororites change year to year i'm guessing, i figured id start a new one. what are the "good" sororites at Cornell, and what makes them better than others? I'm no trying to start a popularity contest, just want some general knowledge about the girls in each house. Thanks!

the old thread isn't that old...and I believe you are required to go to all houses the first few parties - so you will be able to make your own judgments.

Go into rush week with an open mind!! So crucial. It'll be interesting to see how rush this year goes, especially for aephi after all of the hazing scandal last year. Also it'll be REALLY interesting to see how aopi does this year in rush since their numbers are dropping off as people graduate, and their pledge class was so small last year. I don't know how many they got in fall rush this year since I don't know anyone in the house.. I know KD got 8 and axid got 9 people though, which seems really good.. kinda bad sign for KD though since they've been around for so long and axid is still fairly new on campus(?) I think.

The top five houses are Theta, Alpha Phi, DG, KKG, and SDT... after that it gets pretty hard and very subjective in classifying/ranking the remaining houses so I won't even bother.

what are good things/questions and bad things/questions to say/ask while we are at the houses? i.e. really what should we avoid saying that will keep up from being asked back?

Silly... but fun reading about KD rush -
