Is anyone here doing fraternity or sorority rush? If so, see ya in t-minus 10 days!!! If anyone is on the fence, I'll try to convince you.

I just don't know what the process will be like. What will rush really consist of?

In a nutshell, you move in early on August 10th, and you have that whole day to egister for classes, move-in, etc. Then the next two days you have a structured rush consisting of a greek meeting/orientation and then mandatory visitation of each chapter house to meet brothers/ learn about the house (you're assigned into a tour group for visitng). After that, the next 3 days your'e free to visit any house to further aquaint yourself/see if you like it.

During that whole period houses can give you bids that you caan either accept on the spot or later during the rush process. The rush tour is pretty cool cause it allows you to check out all the houses to see where you fit in.

In theory, could I just go to the mandatory house tours and then take the next three days just lounging around, doing nothing?

Seems so, but from what i hear there should be parties (albeit likely alchohol free ones) and events and stuff for rush. But if you already got a bid i guess it really doesn't matter.
