What colleges have really strong russian and international economics programs? I know Georgetown does...any others? Or how could I find out?

The top programs for those two fields are:

1 Columbia University

2 University of Chicago

3 Harvard University

4 University of Michigan-Ann Arbor

5 Yale University

6 University of Wisconsin-Madison

thx a lot, is this list excluding georgetown or is georgetown not in the top 6?

BTW did you look that up or did you memorize it??

Georgetown is more of a hands on program...so is Middlebury. Both are excellent but they won't make any rankings because they aren't research based programs.

I also forgot to add Penn and Stanford...both would make the list as well...somwhere between #3 and #7.

So you have 10 programs right there! LOL

I did not memorize anything. I looked up the top Russian programs according to a 1997 ranking:

1 Columbia

2 Yale

3 Chicago

4 Penn

5 Michigan-Ann Arbor

6 Harvard

7 Indiana-Bloomington

8 University of Washington

9 Stanford

10 Wisconsin-Madison

11 Brown

12 Cornell

13 NYU

14 UNC-Chapel Hill

15 UT-Austin

And I looked up the top International Econ programs according to the latest USNWR:

1 Harvard

2 Columbia

2 Princeton

4 UC-Berkeley

5 MIT

5 Michigan-Ann Arbor

7 Wisconsin-Madison

8 UCLA

8 Yale

10 Chicago

11 NYU

11 Penn

11 Stanford

UCLA's program is called Economics/International Area Studies. Basically, it's economics but you get some focus on a specific area (Russia/former USSR is one of them)
