I know this is a longshot (seeing as the CC forums don't have that many people) but has anyone here either studied Russian or know someone who is studying Russian at UCLA?

If so, what can you tel me about their program? I'm a native speaker by the way...

funny you should post this- my english teacher has her doctorate in russian literature- she went to UCLA and raves about it. really, she loved it. (im going there also, thats why im on this board)

I know students who are studying Russian. Most of the people I met taking Russian classes or minoring in Russian studies like the Russian department at UCLA; others don't. UCLA offers special classes for native speakers. I think (if I recall correctly...), it is a series of three classes, but I am not really sure. I myself have not taken any Russian classes. One of my non-speaking friends is absolutely in love with her Russian lit. class. Also, UCLA has a Russian Club, which puts on parties, a poetry night, an event for Maslenista, a trip to Big Bear, and a restaurant night.
