I’ve searched through the Majors catalog and I (apparently) couldn’t find Cornell offering a Russian/Russian Studies major. Is no Russian/Russian studies major not offered at Cornell? I am surprised because I thought a high-caliber institution like Cornell would offer one, especially given its relations with Nabakov.
There is no major, but there is a Russian minor in the department of Comparative Literature.
Yes, it’s surprising that Cornell does not offer a Russian major. The decision to close the program came at the end of 2010, largely as a cost cutting move. http://cornellsun.com/blog/2010/05/06/russian-program-faces-upheaval/
Although Cornell previously had a Slavic Studies program, focused n literature, I’m not sure that it ever has a federally-funded Russian language and area studies program.
