Hey Guys,
I'm starting one more thread in this topic. and sorry for breaking the rules in prev one. Let's speak in English here!

Is Kyrgystani similar to Russian? Or is it more similar to Asian languages.

Kyrgyzstani is absolutely Asian language, it belongs to Altai language family (like Japanese). But there are many Russians in this country, and many Kyrgyzs and Uzbeks, who can speak Russian (due to USSR).

Wiki, where are from? Russia?

hey guys,
actually our language has nothing common with japanese. but in the point that our language is similar to languages of Altai people you're right, stardragon. but all those languages (+kazakh, uzbek, azerbaijani, etc) are in tukish family. Russian is native for me, and we indeed have a lot of Russians, Uzbeks, Kazakhs here.
thnx, or you're interest

No, meder. Kyrghyzstani is in turkish GROUP of languages, and Altai FAMILY. And, of course, it is not similar to Japanese, because japan. is too far in classification, though belongs to the same group.

I am not from Russia, I am from Panama. However, I will be double majoring in Russian or Russia & East European Studies, depending on where I go to.

Hey, stardragon. I'm not a linguist and I can't say anything against.

Ossssssssss

Hey everyone,

As a Russian immigrant, though now a US Citizen, I wish you all the utmost luck in the college admissions process.
