Does Rutgers New Brunswick Business School accept online classes from community colleges? When I go to NJ Transfer I use the Rutgers School of Arts and Science to check. Is that the one to use anyway? I do not see a specific option for The Business School in NB.

Here are some notes to the business students sent by their freshman advisor:

NO ONLINE COURSES outside Rutgers will transfer to Rutgers.

Most courses must be a minimum of 4 weeks in duration (5 weeks for Math), or they will not transfer to Rutgers.
· Credits for courses in which a C or better grade is earned will transfer, but the grade does not. In other words, you cannot improve your GPA here by taking a county course over the summer and earning an A in it.
· Summer Sessions taken at Rutgers-N.B. do count toward your GPA here.
· Courses in which you previously earned a D or F must be re-taken here at Rutgers-N.B. No do overs at county this summer; not if you are gunning for a grade replacement on an F or a GPA improvement from a D…
· The attached form is only for NJ county college courses. If you are talking about any other colleges, including 4-year colleges in NJ, then you must obtain a syllabus and get the course content evaluated by the respective dept here at Rutgers. In other words, if you wish to take Calc I at a county college in NYC, then you must obtain a syllabus and get our Math Dept to OK the content, before you may proceed. It is a different form; if you need it, email me and I will forward it to you…

Business courses do not transfer to RBS. Some county colleges have an Intro to Financial Acctg that transfers here, but it is often the case that you need to take 2 of their courses to equal our 33:010:272, in which case it may not be worth your while. Read the fine print when you do course look-ups at njtransfer.org.

Hi Appetite,
On NJ Transfer it tells me that micr and macroeconomics as well as certain accounting classes do transfer to Rutgers but it has to be a five week class on CAMPUS. As far as non business courses some online courses will transfer it depends on the subject the online class is. Each department in Rutgers has their own rules for this. It migh say whether it will be accepted if you type the course in individually and check in the fine print. And you are right about there not being a transfer program on NJ Transfer for the business program. I contacted them at NB Business school and they said to follow the SAS requirements like you did. Good Luck!
