I’d love feedback on the quality of the Rutgers BA program. D is looking for options to BFAs that would give her more flexibility to study other subjects in and outside P/A, have a truer college experience, but still get a high quality acting training/performance opportunities. Is the BA program the unloved stepchild to MGSA’s BFA? Assuming grades/tests are on par with Rutgers’ expectations, any sense of selectivity for an out of state kid with lots of theatre ECs? Also need to have some alternatives to audition only programs!
No info on Rutgers…but take a look at Drew University in Madison NJ. My daughter is a junior there and is loving their program.
Thanks, D has interviewed at Drew and definitely will apply. Any thoughts about the program and campus life 2 years in?
My daughter is loving every minute of it. She was admitted to a BFA and turned it down to go to Drew. She loves the small intimate department and she loves the professors and the opportunities she has been given. She was cast as the lead her freshman year of a MainStage show, has written a one act play that was produced, is directing a new play this season and was cast in Hamlet this semester. She has done lighting, set design, props and stage managing. She loves it all and a BA has afforded her these opportunities. If you would like a tour of the department or campus message me and I will hook you up with her. She would love to show off Drew.
@bisouu is an audition required at Drew to be admitted into the BA program? Just curious. Thx for any info
