i am an incoming freshman and i do not know how the bus system works. where can i get information on which bus goes where and when?

I provided a link of each of the weekday bus routes!:

L: College Avenue/Livingston (via Highland Park) <a href=“Parking & Transportation Services | Institutional Planning and Operations”>Parking & Transportation Services | Institutional Planning and Operations;

**Sidenotes:/B I didn’t include the commuter lot since most kids don’t take it unless you parked in the stadium lot. “A” bus for College Avenue/Busch and the “H” bus for College Avenue/Busch are different in the sense that they go the opposite direction. The “H” bus goes to the student center first. The “A” bus is best when you have to go to the classroom buildings first since it goes in that direction.

(2) The LX and the A aren’t available after 10pm. But you’ll still have the L and the H to take you to Livingston and Busch, respectively.

(3) I highly suggest you ride each bus once anytime during the first week of school, especially if you have enough time between classes, so you can become familiar, especially at night.

(4) Don’t worry about not knowing the stops well. It took me two days to get used to which stop was which. Last year as a sophomore, I made the mistake of taken the wrong bus to get to the train station! See, we all make mistakes even when we are familiar with something.

(5) At some stops, they have the same maps that I posted above so you can have an idea where to go.

(6) Don’t feel ashamed to ask a student nearby where a certain stop is or ask a bus driver if the bus stops at a certain place. There are people willing to help :)

so if i am at livingston campus and need to get to college ave campus (Frelinghuysen Hall) i have to take bus L or LX???

I’m on Livingston and all my classes are either on Busch or Livingston; science buildings and beck hall mostly; so I’ll be fine with just the B bus, right?

mlovepup1992: I received an email like three days ago stating how the L doesn’t exist anymore. So that is out of the question! You have no choice but to use the LX. Frelinghuysen (which is the dorm near the Student Activity Center bus stop on College Ave) is the last stop on College Avenue before the bus returns to Livingston. It is one of the river dorms and you will need to take the entrance with the stairs that take you to the basement classrooms.

CraigCho: Yes, you’ll be fine just taking the B since it goes between Livingston and Busch.

Sounds like they’re making some good changes to the bus system. We’ll see how it works out.

^ Yeah! And I hear how they are adding more REXL and REXB. That’s a definite must! Although it won’t be affecting me since I have classes on College Avenue and Douglass only. So I guess I’ll be spending a lot of time on the F or EE during class time.

Initially, I wasn’t too crazy about the whole campus loop thing for the weekend schedule, but maybe it might be better. I hope ^_^
