Rutgers callback?

Does Rutgers tell you if you got a callback in the audition room or do they write you?

(I auditioned during Chicago Unifieds...)

We were told at the on campus audition that callbacks would go out some time around early March after all the auditions were complete

Last year they sent letters in the mail.

I was told today call backs would be around Feb. 15th also was mentioned that the on the spot callbacks were done away with after last years fiasco

Now I’m discovering the down side of letting my son go to all his auditions by himself – this is the first I have heard about a callback weekend for Rutgers. Does anyone know when it is?

prodesse - according to their website, for those students who are invited, callback weekend will be 3/8/13-3/10/13.
One confusing thing that was mentioned by a few people who attended (as my S did) the auditions on 1/28: last year some students were admitted without being invited to callback weekend. I don’t know if that is going to be the case this year…

Last year’s Rutgers process was a mess – and the first time they had a call back weekend – so I think reading to much from last year into this year would be a mistake. If anyone has some information directly from Rutgers about how the process will work this year, would love to hear it.

It would not suprise me at all that Rutgers went to a process more like Guthrie or Juilliard in which the entire class is picked from the call back weekend. This is just some speculation on my part but this is also a great opportunity for the school to sell the kids they really want so I can’t quite wrap my arms around the logic of not inviting everyone. And if you were going to admit some without the call back weekend, it would be really smart (hint hint) to send out admissions or rejections at the same time as the call back weekend invitations so everyone is not left trying to figure out which way is up.

Fourkorz – I think you meant the 26th or 27th – we were there the 27th and heard the same from the two freshman students

An administrator from Rutgers said some people will still get admitted who aren’t invited to the callback weekend although the number is slim.

You’re right, ActingDad – I was there on the 27th.

Has anyone heard anything yet from Rutgers? (My son has not.)

Any calls yet?

No news here.

Haven’t heard here either.

If the audition schedule this year resembles last year’s, Mason Gross probably is just finishing up its auditions. Since they host a call-back weekend, instead of same-day callbacks, it seems likely that they would wait until they’ve seen everyone before compiling a callback list.

Londream – I wonder if someone gave you the wrong info. We were told they would go out around March 1. I just looked at the Rutgers schedule and they still have an on campus audition for next weekend. I would think they would wait until after that for call backs to go out.

The info came from the women running the front desk at unifieds she runs it every year in L.A. She knows everything about Rutgers. But, if it runs anything like last year who knows what can happen.

At our session at Rutgers, she said you would be contacted by March 1 at the latest. As has already been mentioned, the callback weekend is March 8-10.

I know someone who received a callback today…

do you know if the person was contacted by mail, telephone or email?

Hey everyone, I just found out I got a Rutgers callback! For those of you who are curious, I was notified by email, and I have heard from others that they are being emailed today, though I can by no means say whether the notification process is close to over.
