I also know of someone who received a Rutgers callback today. Unfortunately, I don’t know any details about how they were contacted.

So no call back then no acceptance (most likely)???

My D knows two that got emails yesterday, later in the evening. We are still waiting and hoping!

Gulp!!! Us too

Still hoping here, too. Congrats bfatime!

Bfatime, has your Rutgers online status changed? Or does it still say “in process”?

And are both girls n guys being notified? I refuse to check the email one more time tonight. (Will start promptly at 8:00am. Haha)

To the question regarding both girls and boys receiving invites to Rutgers callback week-end: On Monday, my son received an email invite to participate.

Does anyone know if a callback is required for admission this year? That hasn’t apparently always been the case.

I would think they accept from callback group. Why wouldn’t they?

I agree Muttle1, why wouldn’t they? But last year’s thread said they picked some who weren’t on the callback list. That doesn’t make much sense to me, but that’s what happened then. I think they were still trying to figure out their process related to callbacks, perhaps.

Last year they did accept and wait-list people who were not called back. And: they held a second call back after April 1, calling in people who were not asked to the March callback. I assume the rationale for picking people without a callback is that they immediately knew those applicants were right for the program.

We should also keep in mind that Rutgers still has one more on campus audition day. The final wave of call back decisions can’t be made until this group has been seen. They may have purposely kept call back invites down to a minimum till they knew how many they would want to call back from the final session. I know CC is not respresentative of everyone in the process but it does not sound like the numbers reporting having heard about a call back or knowing someone with a call back would seem to add up to what you’d expect hear on CC if all the call back invites had gone out. And as GH points out, the only info we have is from last year in which a large number of the class was admitted without a callback so who knows what will happen this year. I agree that the logic would be to select the entire class from the callbacks but when has logic governed this process?

I thought all auditions are done since the 10th. Dance still has some dates, and design, but I don’t think there’s any acting dates left. At least I don’t see anything on the website.

Sorry, you are right. I looked at it too quickly and picked up a date from Dance. Auditions are finished. So far though it sounds like we have people posting about invitations sent out on Monday and on Tuesday and it does seem like a bit of a trickle so who knows.

Well I’ve really turned into a freak, constantly checking for email, eagerly awaiting the postman…and I’m a parent!!!

Me too, Muttle 1. We set up a separate gmail account for college application correspondence and I keep checking over there! I haven’t even told my son about this whole callback invitation thing. He has auditions for the school musical this week and seems to be doing well about putting the college admissions out of his mind until next month.

I wish I could quit checking email every half hour, but I must admit I am starting to feel like the invitations would have been all sent out by now if they are by email. They started sending them on Monday. I have been checking the online application status, too. So far it still says “pending audition/talent assessment.”

I’m not the only one obsessively checking email and school websites! Nice to have company in the padded room!

The lovely young lady who was running auditions the weekend we were there was among those accepted after not receiving a callback. But she had attended their summer program and has a sister who is a fourth-year in the program … my guess is the Mason Gross faculty were familiar with her work and potential.

Just some more intel you all might want to know.

Best of luck, everyone!
