Rutgers Callback

Hello, I was recently invited to the BFA Acting on-campus callback for Mason Gross, and was wondering if anyone here has gone through/knows someone who has gone through the process? How many people are usually invited to callbacks, and how many of these individuals are accepted into the program? What do the days there mostly consist of? Thanks!

What unifieds did you attend? We’re waiting to hear from LA

@svamom I attended the LA Unifieds and received the callback early the next week

Several people have messaged me asking about details of my daughter’s callback letter. I searched back here a few years and I don’t think we should read anything into it. If you haven’t been formally rejected, no news is good news. Apparently in the past many at the March callbacks didn’t get in, some got in without a callback and some were asked to a callback in April. Here is the thread- you can read thru a previous years journey thru this process: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/theater-drama-majors/1457991-rutgers-callback-p5.html

@kidwithcrocs thanks for that info that totally helps. Ok we will be moving on and not worry about it now. Thanks for the update

@svamom no problem! I’m sorry about not receiving a callback—but of course, as @Autmlvs615 stated, it could mean nothing! You never know

Also @Autmlvs615 of course! I was just curious to know how many people attended callbacks in previous years—I’ve heard stories ranging from 40 people to 7 people. Does your daughter remember how many were there at hers? (I’m just really nervous about the “competition” haha)

I actually have yet another question for anyone who knows anything about the callback: were attendees in the past housed with current students in dorms? How did that work out? Because apparently we will be sleeping in rooms with current students, and I’m wondering how that will work, especially since the dorms don’t look enormous, and if there really are around 40 people called back…

In my son’s call back email it said the BFA kids called back would be housed in dorms or apartments with current students and the MFA students called back would be housed at a hotel. I believe the 40 or so people called back is a mix of BFA/MFA kids.

Does anyone from the Rutgers callback know when they will start notifying admission decisions?

@Autmlvs615 just a guess, but they are spring break this upcoming week so perhaps after that. I haven’t heard of any denials or acceptances yet.

Does anyone know around what dates they sent out denials or acceptances in previous years?

Good luck to those still waiting to hear . . . keeping up with this thread since my S was waitlisted with his initial notification.
