How's the college life like commuting to Rutgers Camden?

All I know is my AP Bio teacher told our class Camden is the most depressing place he has ever lived in his whole life, unfortunately lol. He said that the convenience store shelves are half empty, so the commute can’t be too bad.

hi, im a first year commuter to camden. yeah its depressing, I’ve been wanting to transfer since september lol. when it comes down to it, most commuting experiences are not exciting, imo. that being said, my commute is about 20 minutes on an average day with some traffic. its essentially a lot like a continuation of high school. you drive there, go to classes, drive home. no matter how much effort RUC puts into fostering social opportunities, its hard to make friends. however, i find that many students at RUC aren’t very motivated which makes it less competitive (unless you’re taking nursing, science-related courses where the material is more challenging.) i have had very intelligent professors from brown, upenn, and harvard at RUC (and i’m only in my second semester of college).

I am curious about this too. I currently go to Rutgers-New Brunswick and I’m thinking of transferring to Rutgers-Camden. My girlfriend lives in south NJ and it’s also less expensive down there. I’ve been to Camden and while the city itself looks miserable, the campus (and Cooper) looks segregated from the rest of the city.
