Rutgers Chances?

Attend very competitive school in Central NJ...(top 5 SAT's in NJ)

White Male
GPA: 3.1 out of 4.0 (B+/B)
SAT V 620
SAT M 570

EC's: 4 yrs football
1 yr basketball
1 yr baseball

I sent in my application in the middle of September and Rutgers is my #1 choice. I have not heard yet and am getting nervous. Rutgers average SAT is 1219 but I heard they favor heavily students from NJ...am I correct?

What are my chances of getting in?

i think you have a very good chance.
it's weird because they should have given you a reply within about 4 weeks.

I know..that's why I am a little nervous. I forgot to add, I am not applying for Financial Aid, if that makes a difference at all.

Anyone else want to take a stab at my chances???

Rutgers is a safety for you. Why not apply to more competitive colleges?

Being state funded, Rutgers MUST take 85% of applicants who are NJ residents. They use rolling admissions and only this year added the essay requirement. I suspect reading the essays is what is holding up the normally quicker response rate. So if your essay is decent, don't worry.

Really???

Can you name a few in the area that you think I have a decent shot of getting into??

Has anyone with lower stats than I have been accepted at Rutgers yet?

Ok..let me ask this...Has anyone with better stats than me been rejected yet?
