@SJwaiting if you sent it in the end of October, you are automatically considered as ED.
That is totally untrue. You have to sign an ED contract and elect ED to be considered ED- it’s a binding contract, so not everyone who applies early (this goes for any school) is ED. Last year my daughter applied in August to a school and didn’t choose ED or EA and she was treated like RD (as she should have been).
I totally forgot that Rutgers does not have ED. They only have EA and RD(NB I dont know about Newark or Camden because I did not apply). If you applied before Nov 1, you will automatically considered as EA. When I applied for EA they did not ask me to choose either EA or RD.
@milgymfam I think @SJwaiting meant EA because I don’t think Rutgers has ED, but I could be wrong.
Rutgers early action (EA) decisions are not binding and they don’t offer ED.
I really hope the last decisions for EA would come out by the end of this week. I really want to go to Rutgers, but my stats are not that high so I’m worried.
Yes, I meant EA…sorry - but thanks everyone for the feedback!
Hi again, I hope this isn’t a stupid question, but it’s coming from a Mom whose starting to wonder…I’m reading all the posts and I’m noticing the dates of acceptance for Rutgers 2024. Lots accepted in November and December and I also notice some that are getting answers who were RD. We were EA and we are going right down to the wire. I can’t help but think that of course they scoop up all the high achieving students right away. My son does not have a great SAT score (1250) so I’m starting to think of course he’s on the bottom and prob isn’t going to get in to RNB SAS. Do they actually just leave the worst for last?
@SJwaiting I am in the top 2 deciles of my class and got a 32 on my ACT and haven’t heard back. I would not worry about his scores… at least I hope!
^^ as well as friends with higher test scores and GPAS
Also the only difference between EA and RD is that those who apply EA are the ones who are considered for the honors college and merit scholarships
so, is there no chance for me to receive any merit scholarships if i applied RD? I did not know this…
No this is not true. The deadline for merit was December 1st
In agree with @baseball15678 that the only advantage of applying to Rutgers by November 1st rather than by December 1st is that you get a decision by the end of January rather than by the end of February…
However you must apply by December 1st to be considered for scholarships or an Honors College invitation.

Not sure that it always works like that. My son applied 12/1 and was accepted @ NB in December. Still waiting on honors college.
I feel the same way as SJWaiting. My SAT score is 1370 and GPA is 3.9 and still haven’t heard back EA. Only applied to SEBS. I’ve been accepted to UD, UMA, UVT, UConn with great merit that make them on par to Rutgers. Also accepted to 3 privates that blow in-state away with their scholarships. Also accepted to Penn State (Penn State sings like a bird…cheap…cheap cheap…no money). I can’t wrap my head around getting rejected by my own state institution. Next week UMD finally releases their decisions, which is my #1. Truly hoping on that school, but it would be pretty sad if Rutgers rejects me.
@Jerzyboyz2 UConn doesn’t have EA and doesn’t release decisions until 3/1. Are you saying you already heard from them?
@CTCape I don’t know about EA stuff but many of my friends already heard back from UConn in late Nov and early Dec.
Waiting on Clemson too.
do we think it could come out tonight?
