Rutgers Engineering

Does a degree from Rutgers engineering hold weight in its name?

Rutgers is NJ’s flagship school, and its engineering program is ABET accredited. If you get good grades there, it will be respected, as it would from any other large public university.

I agree with engrmom. Rutgers is a wonderful school for engineering.

You cannot go wrong with an engineering degree from Rutgers. Also, since the Rutgers math department is ranked very high in the math sub-area of discrete mathematics, that would strengthen the computer science teaching.

I just turned down Rutgers for Drexel…now I wonder if I made a mistake :/

“I just turned down Rutgers for Drexel…now I wonder if I made a mistake”

Nah…you are OK as far as the PA/NJ/DE area. Now I cannot comment on Drexel’s rep outside of that geographical area but when I worked in the Philly area, the Pharma companies and the Insurance companies definitely were well-represented (at least computer science/I.T.) by Drexel.
