Rutgers even though I live in NY?

I want to major in Pharmacology and Rutgers in one of few schools who have a reputable program. Buffalo has a program but I really do not want to go there because it's so far away, 8 hours. Rutgers seems like a school I would love. But should I pay double just because I live in New York? And the location is good in the fact that I can take a train home but then again it's in NEW JERSEY! I really don't like new Jersey as a state. Nothing personal Jerseyians it's the New York/New Jersey rivalry ;)

Whats your opinion?
Thanks so much!

Rutgers is one option, and St. John’s is another, which is in Queens.

That being said, Rutgers is probably cheaper, even with OOS tuition.

I would suggest you apply to both, and apply for financial aid, and see what the bottom line is for both.

St. John’s doesn’t have pharmacology. I know Stony Brook does, though.

I thought I read pharmacy - you are right tb!

I’m on LI and I know a couple of people from my school who got into Rutgers and are planning on going. It’s definitely a solidly well-respected school. As for the whole NY/NJ feud… I mean, it’s funny to joke about, but if you’re seriously considering it as a factor in your decison…

My guidance counselor suggested TCNJ to me, and I expressed doubts because there’s over 90% instate students. She assured me that NJ students are basically the same as NY students; it’s not like Utah or Kentucky.

Thanks for all the help guys :)
