^For transfers, how do you get housing and when do you apply? I’ve heard that housing isn’t easy to get, and if I can’t get on campus housing, I cannot attend Rutgers.

I live off campus, but all the transfers I met were able to get housing. I believe you apply in April - make sure you check the deadline though and get the app in immediately, then you shouldn’t have any problems. Most transfers were put in New Gibbons on Cook this past year, but a few people I met were in Rockoff, which is one of the nicest places.

The information will be on your enrollment pathway.

im transferring from lehigh to rutgers, but ive only got a 2.6 gpa. do you think i have a chance?

I got the big envelope in the mail with the certificate and all…
but are they going to send my credit evaluation? This is definately a deal breaker…it determines whether I’ll graduate in 2 years or 3.

Scorpioserpent how did you hear so soon from new brunswick? When did you apply?
I applied around January 10 and i have only heard back from newark. I am transferring from a CC with a 3.54 gpa and got a 620 in critical reading and a 580 in math on my sats. Should i be fine for new brunswick? I applied for School of Arts and Science and School of Environmental and Biological Science because i heard it was easier to get into.

I applied before the deadline for New Brunswick SAS, SEBS, and engineering. I transferred to OCC from University of Vermont with a 2.75 with around 30 credits. At OCC I had a 3.8 for the fall 2009 semester and currently taking classes now. In high school i had around a 3.7 and my sats were 520 cr and 630 math.
HS- 3.7
UVM- 2.75
OCC- 3.8
SAT
Math- 630
CR- 520
Writing- 560

Anybody have an idea of what kind of chance i have?

I don’t know why I heard back early. I applied a week before the priority. But my letter of admission I got in the mail along with the certificate/black folder was dated Feb 10.

Maybe the majors I applied for had a lot of spots. (NB Engineering - Electrical Engineering, SAS-Math)

^Both of you guys have good enough GPAs. I think you guys will get in. I might have gotten in early because I had a kinda high GPA for engineering, but idk.

Whoo my file was viewed without being rejected!!!

Hi everyone. I also applied to Rutgers NB for fall 2010 as a transfer student. Currently I am attending a CC and have a GPA of 3.42 with only 12 credits. My reason for going to a CC was that my SAT scores were so incredibly low that I didn’t even bother applying anywhere. I have a learning disability and often struggle with test taking which is always a disadvantage for me. I wanted to prove myself as a student that I am capable of college level work. My SAT scores will not be shown in the application. With that being said, the only material that will be shown is my current GPA: 3.42, high school transcript 2.95, and the essay. All of my required credentials were received 2/8/10. I have been patiently wanting for a reply for about a month so hopefully it won’t be too much longer. I appreciate any feedback good or bad. Thankyou and good luck to everyone else! Also how long has everyone been waiting?

Are you sure Rutgers doesn’t have your SATs? To my dismay, I realized they did since I had sent them to rutgers back when I took the SATs. I did well on them, but not good enough for engineering. But I was accepted into engineering, so I don’t think they look at your sats or highschool transcript much anyways.

They received all my stuff around January 28 and I have only heard back from newark. Still waiting on New brunswick. Hopefully, I will hear this month!

I got an email saying housing is open for registration. I guess I better decide if I want to go to Rutgers or not soon…

i sent my transcript before the priority date but they said they had all the documents after it. am i considered priority or not?

My brother was accepted last Friday for SAS (exercise science) with ~3.4gpa I believe, and my boyfriend was accepted on Monday SAS (criminal justice), also with ~3.4gpa, but his transcripts were just received about a week ago, so for those of you worried about your materials being late, there is hope!

I still haven’t heard anything and they received everything on 1/27…

My boyfriend had his stuff in a week after the priority date and he was accepted on feb 10, same as me.

Accepted New Brunswick College of Arts and Sciences

yay…

transferstudnt, when did you apply?

Scorpioserpent, I haven’t sent my SATs anywhere besides the CC i am attending now. This is the first school I am applying to so I don’t think they will see them, really hoping not anyway. It says on the website you need at least 12 credits in order not to post them, which i have. Would it say my SATs on my hs transcript? I’m getting nervous now.
Since RU’s spring break is next week I’m assuming staff won’t be reviewing apps the entire week?
Congrats transferstudnt!
