Rutgers Fall 2010 Transfer students

^What major are you doing? I wouldn’t think it matter if you took anything after algebra unless you are going into engineering or science. I never took algebra 1 or 2 in hs, but I took precalc…And I got back on track and got straight As through the three levels of calculus offered. I thought I was going to do really bad because I don’t know algebra, but I picked up a lot of algebra through calc, and now I’m doing great.

I’m a social work major now. Yes, she did say it would matter more if I were an engineer major but she did ask why those were my only grades so low throughout my four years in high school. I’m retaking algebra 2 right now at my cc yet again and still not doing well. It’s also not a credited course. Math is totally not my thing!

If i go to a community college, can i apply for a transfer AND transfer out and in to rutgers after my first year?

if you have enough credits, and maintain a decent GPA yes. it’s tougher to transfer out first year than having an associate.

i was ADMITTED to SEBS but somehow waitlisted to SAS!!! I thought SEBS was a lot harder to get into than SAS and SAS was my number one choice, but I DONT CARE!. I am ecstatic to have gotten into Rutgers and haven’t felt this good in a while. WHOO!!!

congrats, im still waiting… havent recieved an update since… 2/01 lol

I’m still waiting too. I haven’t received an update since 1/27 ahhh.

Hey all,

Been waiting for awhile as well. I applied before priority due date. Heard back from Rutgers Business Newark almost immediately, was admitted. Heard back from Rutgers Business Camden yesterday, admitted. Just waiting on New Brunswick (my target)

Best of luck

im guessing all of you should hear back by this week since I only completed 17 credits and was granted admission already

i am not too confident about my chances, i have about 48 credits, but since i changed my major some of them don’t count. i have a cum gpa of 3.3 due to Cs i got in accounting, which was the reason i changed my major… have As in all my math courses precalc-calc2, A in all english comp 1 and 2, and pretty much all B+ in any science related classes. but after seeing people with much better gpa, im not sure anymore lol. i applied for SAS as physics major, and school of engineering both new Brunswick. at this point i no longer care if im in or out, but would just like to get it over with.

you will definitely get in. my gpa was a 3.17 and i had less credits than you, and you said you applied around the deadline and are in-state. dont worry, sometimes people dont hear back until like the day of the priority notification. but im almost positive you’ll get in.

I’m an in-state transfer student from Purdue University with a 3.08 over there. Do you think I’ll get in to Rutgers SAS (New Brunswick)?

it depends on how many credits you have.

Hey guys. I’m a sophomore at NJIT who is trying to transfer to Rutgers next year with 2.7 GPA. I know it’s low…I totally screwed up my first year and received few Cs, 1D and 1F. However, I studies my butt off in second year and got 3.5 last semester. Currently I’m retaking the class I failed last year and doing very well. I was wondering what do you guts think of my chance for following schools: School of Art and Science in New Brunswick, School of Environmental and Biological Science and School of Management and Labor Relations. I applied before priority deadline and I had 3.5 GPA at HS and 1210 (CR +M) on SAT. Few feedback would be highly appreciated :)

njindal, you didn’t like Purdue? I just got readmitted back to Purdue and will be attending Purdue again in the fall. I’m not going to care much about my Rutgers application now.

got admitted to SAS NB and wait listed for engineering, updated exactly 2 month after my last review

I got into SAS and engineering, it took two months also.

I’m going to decline Rutgers school of engineering and arts and sciences. I am going to Drexel, because it is cheaper for me after scholarships. Hope one of you guys get my spot. Wish you all the best of luck!!! =)

THANKS for declining! I still haven’t heard yet so hopefully I DO get your spot haha.

And Jimgotkp, I did not like Purdue. It wasn’t for me and I really want to go to Rutgers. I have 16 credits already and am finishing at Purdue with 15 more. I really want to go to Rutgers this fall ahhh.

Congratulations to everyone accepted! I haven’t seen many rejection posts. Hopefully it stays that way! It’s been exactly two months today that everything was received of mine… I hope it doesn’t take much longer.
