@Liveitlight no i think december 1st is when they start sending letters and decisions to EARLY ACTION applicants. December 1st deadline is regular decision
So are we getting decisions tomorrow for EA applicants?
Last year once admissions results started coming, they came out little by little until they were done. Not one big roll out like other schools. Of course, last year they also started coming out before the early action deadline.
Will the results show up tomorrow morning or Wednesday morning because the only update the portal at night?
So results are just shown online and they don’t mail you anything?
The initial decision will be online and then there will be an unofficial letter sent in the mail a few days later.
Did anyone get their results in today? I’m so nervous… I keep checking the status every 5 min haha
@polkmn i know how that feels
They only update the systen once everyday, in the afternoon. So just check every morning
Just chillax
Youve done your job, now its up to them
Waitng waiting waiting…
I just called the admissions office at NB. I don’t think the decisions will be posted today. They are saying by Jan 31 and they didn’t know where I got the info about Dec 1. Can someone comment on this?
In response to the question above @ 10:54, I can respond: RU promises decisions for early applicants by Jan. 31. Any admissions they send out earlier than that constitutes their doing something over and above what they are required to do, which they are under absolutely no obligation to do. Last year they started accepting on Nov. 1 for the best students, then later for others. They might do something like that this year, or they might just send everything out on Jan. 31. It’s up to them, and since their policy says nothing, in effect, other than “we will send it out by Jan. 31, or sometime earlier than that if we feel like it,” they can make this change relative to last year without having to state anything different about their policy. It is maddening, because internally, among themselves, they know exactly what their plans are, but they don’t have to share their internal thought processes or acknowledge publicly that they are doing this. Unfortunately, this is the way it is. The only back pressure on what RU does is that if other schools are admitting early and RU is not, people may lose interest in RU. On the other hand, sometimes the early interest generated by fast admissions fades by May 1, so it may be to RU’s advantage to keep people in suspense. The admissions office is charged with one goal, and one goal only: causing the best possible entering class to arrive on Sept. 1, 2016. If they feel that admitting people early will achieve this goal, they will do it; otherwise, they won’t. Removing people’s suspense about their status is simply not their goal, so they won’t act toward that goal unless it happens to help them achieve their goal of bringing in the best class (i.e., the class with the highest SAT/ACT scores) to campus on Sept. 1, 2016.
As to what RU admissions told you, if you call any admissions office and ask anything, they will not do anything other than repeat their written policy. The policy exists to take pressure off them, and they will not give up the benefit of that by implying over the phone that they will do more than their written policy requires. They might start admitting people today, tomorrow, next week, etc., but I assure you that if you call them, regardless of what they might secretly know about their own intentions, they’re not going to tell you anything other than their official written policy, which says you will get a decision by Jan. 31 if you met the early deadline.
Patience everyone. Just be confident that you got accepted to the school. It’s painful to wait, but you can’t do anything if they are having time issues with reviewing applications. Last year it took a week for me to get accepted, but the deadline for early action is January 31, 2016. Just patiently wait. As long as you got like above the average SAT/ACT with a decent/high GPA, you will be accepted.
@RUasian
how bout above average sat(2100) and slightly below average gpa(3.39) for sas?
@chubby2016 You’re fine! http://admissions.rutgers.edu/Academics/AdmissionsProfile.aspx
Being that your SAT surpassed your GPA will potentially help, and you still have time to raise your GPA, you’re fine
I only said Dec 1 originally because a friend’s dad was on the live online Q&A session a couple of weeks ago, and they said this was the earliest date decisions would be released. If nobody gets anything by 5 or 6pm today, then we’re back to square one: hoping it’ll come before Jan 31…
“This screen is updated each evening, Monday through Friday. Any changes made on this screen will be included in the next system update and will be viewable the day following the update.”
Even if they did update it this evening, we wouldn’t be able to see it until tomorrow morning.
Also does anyone else’s portal say:
“This screen reflects the status of your Rutgers University application for undergraduate admission including all required credentials received through 11/09/2015.”
@Dilan412 yes
The “credentials received through” date represents the date your application was complete. It is not a reflection of when the system was updated. My son’s says 10/5.
As to the issue of notifications, Rutgers is not going to commit to a date certain. It may say “no sooner than” or “no later than,” but it will not get anyone’s hopes up. Imagine you receive tens of thousands of applications within an eight-week span. You’re not going to make promises beyond the deadlines posted on the web site.
Here is the surest way of knowing when RU will be releasing decisions for NB: When multiple people start to come on this forum and say they heard from a NB-based college, you will know the notification process has started.
I just submitted my application yesterday, November 30. I also ordered my ACT scores yesterday. I have a 31 ACT. Do I have no chance at Rutgers Pharmacy since I submitted my application so late and my ACT scores won’t even arrive for another week or two?
@Dilan412 yes- My son’s now says thru 11/24. That date has periodically been changed, but it is not when the application is complete. everything was in for my son in early October and reflected on the page. No new material has been submitted and that date changes about every 2 weeks for him.
