@Tigr0705 , when you login into the portal, The first lines contain a phrase “all items received till xx/xx/xxxx”
Was just told by an Rutgers Admission staff that applications received this year totaled to 38,000. Surpassing last year, which had already surpassed previous years. Therefore, applications this year will be very competitive, not looking too bright for me. (This is for the New Brunswick campus).
@nikolateslaxi how many apps did Rutgers NB in past years typically receive?
@NE_Pats12 According to the Rutgers Admission staff member, in 2011 they received 28,000 apps. This year they received 38,000 apps which is an increase of 10,000 apps in 7 years.
My S was accepted 4.0 uw gpa, 1380 SAT to engineering and arts and science. He applied in late November. Good luck to everyone else waiting
I’m an international student, I’ve applied to SAS at NB and Newark. My uw GPA is ~3.75-3.90(my school doesn’t calculate GPA) and my SAT score is 1440. I had applied early November and haven’t yet been given any decision. Do I still have a chance of being admitted?
@nikolateslaxi I don’t think thats accurate because on their website it says they received 41,000 apps for the class of 2021 last year. So it seems like there apps went down, also they started to accept applications for first year students again on a “space available basis”. Im just hoping for the best.
@ItchyNanobot I think you have a good chance of being admitted. Which college in New Brunswick did you apply to?
@NE_Pats12 I’ve applied to School of Arts and Sciences at New Brunswick and the Newark College of Arts and Sciences.
@ItchyNanobot I wouldn’t worry, these things just seem to be kinda random. Good Luck!!
@ishaan102119 Mine says 12/21/2017 but I submitted my application in October and all the supplemental information was that same week too. Does this mean now I ended up in the regular decision pool??
@swiftie1989 Common Data set for 2016-2017 says otherwise.
https://oirap.rutgers.edu/CDS/2016/New%20BrunswickRegion16.pdf
@Tigr0705 not at all. Their EA deadline is 1st November and most probably they also give some additional days to submit other records as done by other univs. I applied in September itself as soon as the deadline opened.
@nikolateslaxi The freshman admission data mentioned in the Common Data set for 2016-2017 is for Fall 2016.
@ishaan102119 Oh ok, so the date saying December 21 doesn’t mean much?
precisely, bdw what’s your name? Dm me on @ishaan_k103 (instagram) for further talk.
@ItchyNanobot ahh ok thank you. Wow, such a large increase in just 2 years. If that is so, it will appear that applications this year has dropped by 3,000 applications which would lead to the admissions process not being as competitive. Very good news!
@swiftie1989 Yeah, I was wrong sorry about that. The apps actually dropped a good amount.
@ItchyNanobot @nikolateslaxi Yes on top of page 5 it states the data is for Fall 2016, not fall 2017.
Hopefully this helps us all out.
This has to be the week :((
