Rutgers Fall 2018 Decisions

@swiftie1989 Emailing/Mailing them a letter stating Rutgers-NB is my #1 choice along with an updated transcript showing a substantial increase in grades.

@landon2800 I was speaking to a Rutgers Staff worker on behalf of my rejection, and according to the account, admissions this year were very competitive, therefore resulting in more of a holistic view rather than individualistic view when making admissions decisions. In other words, numbers mattered more. Putting this into perspective, a large amount of people will be rejected this year(already including me). Knowing me, it was a stretch, but I am pretty confident most of you will get into New Brunswick. Best of luck.

@nikolateslaxi what were your stats and what school if you don’t mind asking? I’m nervous with the business school because I have a 1300 SAT but gpa of only 3.5 (freshman year 82, soph 88, junior 97, this year 98~) so I hope they see the upward trend and not just looking overall

You’ll be fine @BurnzZy
3.1 cumulative with an upward trend (2.2 GPA freshman year to 4.0 GPA this year)
1150 SAT.
Overall, my stats look like crap.
School of Arts and Sciences
Seen kids with lower stats get in, luck was not on my side.

3.1 and 1350 sat… Been in process for God knows how long. Been thinking my SAT score would’ve gotten me in, but now i’m scared that my low gpa is gonna be the death of me, Any thoughts?

do you guys think my 3.9 and 1160 will hurt me? instate and applied to NB sas

Hello!

I’ve been lurking here for a long time, but I finally decided to make an account and post.
I applied towards the end of October, and got my acceptance(s) during the first wave in December.

Accepted to SAS, Engineering, and Business.

Stats:
1560 SAT, 34 ACT
3.1 uw 3.8 w GPA at one of the most highly ranked & rigorous high schools in the state
(edit: yes, I’m instate)
My essay was…sort of bad
Extracurriculars were average, no leadership positions but I’ve been doing my main ECs since middle school

Can someone tell me when aid/scholarships and Honors invitations go out (either for the Honors College or the Honors Program), and if I have a chance at any of those things?

@student20182 my friend had the same exact stats and got into nb sas. No APs and only 2 honors classes freshman year but after that only regulars classes so I think you should be ok

I still haven’t gotten my decision ugh. Applied in October to SAS and Pharmacy. Anyone in the same boat?

Im so nervous rn. I go to a really competition NJ high school and applied to SAS, SEBS, and RBS. You guys think a 1310 and 3.1UW can get me in. Im still In process for all of them.

I hope swiftie gets in tbh, wanna chill w him at ru

Iol I hope so too

@nikolateslaxi thank you!! I hope things change and you get accepted as well. Do you think I have a shot? 3.2ish , 1290? W my 8 honors classes and 4 AP’s - and a bunch of ec’s?

@landon2800 im pretty sure you can make it into SAS

I applied EA (submitted 10/30) with a 1450 sat (E650,M800) with 790 in math2c for Pharm and I haven’t heard yet. When will this wait end

Hi I’m wondering if anyone can give me insight on my chances for RU NB SAS, my sats were an 1100, weighted gpa of 4.67 and 51st in my class

Hey guys,

I don’t know whats taking so long for Rutgers to send out these decisions because my brother got his decision a week after he applied. He applied somewhere near the deadline ( idk why he waited to submit the application just before the deadline lol ) and got his decision in like a week. He had a 3.7 and got accepted into SAS. He wrote the essay in 5 hours and im not even sure if it was that good, lol. He is just waiting to hear back from the business school. However, he plans on attending SAS so doesnt matter if he gets into the business school or not.

As for me, I am planning to submit my transfer application this week. It might take longer for Rutgers to respond since I am a transfer. Btw @gmg I think you have a pretty high chance of getting in considering that you have a sat score higher than my brothers. Just wait till January 31st because thats the day EA applicants get notified. If you stilldon hear back, I think you should contact the institution since there is no reason as to why you wouldn’t get accepted.

Good luck !

@landon2800 Absolutely! Since your SAT scores are good, I think you do have a chance. You also have a very strong resume with 4 APs and 8 Honors. Considering that you have a 3.2 gpa, the application reviewers should know that it was because of the heavy courseload you took. As mentioned before, my brother had a 3.7 but a lower SAT than yours. He got into SAS. So Good luck ! and keep us all updated.

Just got confirmation on my daughter’s early action application. Accepted to SAS, Business school and school of pharmacy in New Brunswick. SAT - 1560 , GPA 4.3 W in state
