Rutgers Financial Aid

@pbmcdoug for date of birth did you follow the format, including slashes? mm/dd/yy
Last 4 digits of social?

Yes. I tried last four digits of SSN, but then I looked and it said if you did not file FAFSA, use last four digits of RUID and that did not work either.

Did anyone of you get that e-mail, yet?

@pbmcdoug I would contact the Financial Aid office or whatever is listed at the bottom of the login screen and tell them about your login issues.

No email here.

No email for S either. Maybe something went wrong and it wont be tonight.

I think there won’t be any (more) emails tonight. Guess we’ll need to wait until Monday.

Nothing here - seems odd that these notifications would go out late on a Friday evening or over a weekend - no other college we have applied to does this. At this point I don’t think we’ll see anything until next week.

It’s so strange

at financial aid.rutgers.edu I am able to click on the “check document status” box and see a message dated February 10, 2018 that I am to complete entrance advising re federal loans before the loan(s) can be disbursed. Anyone else see this?

FA is available for me this morning. No email but figured I’d check and the packages are there.

^ Same, I didn’t get an email, but I could log in and see my financial aid.

Also, it seems like I didn’t receive any scholarships…? Does merit aid come out with the FA?

Yes… here too. S got $22,000 for SAS and SEBS and $16,000 for SOE. Very happy

Confirmed - FA has been released but email yet

Where is my merit aid?

@MrElonMusk That’s what I’m wondering too! I didn’t get any ‘gift aid’.

Here’s comes the part where people are shocked. VERY FEW get merit at Rutgers. VERY FEW. Keep your expectations low.

$5,500 in federal loans from each school, plus a $3,500 Scarlet scholarship from RBS! I’m instate & my fafsa EFC is crazy high so I’m surprised that I got aid at all :stuck_out_tongue:

@acceptme2022 the Scarlet Scholarship is a merit award which has nothing to do with your EFC. Congrats.

In state and high EFC so did not get anything beyond the Fed loan - disappointed but not surprised

Got the Trustee Scholarship- $13,000 a year! COA is $21,000 for me. I’m a little surprised, I received merit from OOS public schools and they were a lot, lot more generous. I’m instate and Rutgers is my most expensive option! Still grateful for the merit though.
