Why haven't I heard back?

Well they have a really high acceptance rate, but your scores are on the lower end of their averages…so you have a shot, but it isn’t a gimme. Try calling the admissions office. That’s what I did today!

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1252493-what-my-chances.html

Hopefully you are instate which should help. Your SAT scores are definitely on the lower end as is your gpafor the rigor of your classes but it should be fine. I think your best shot would be getting accepted to Sebs.

I would say you have a pretty good chance. Your stats are on the lower end of their averages but that being said, those numbers do come from somewhere! I don’t know if you’re in state but if so, that would also really help your chances. A lot of times with state/public schools, you will not hear back until late December/early January. The exceptional students (ones who could compete with those attending IVY’s) are usually the first to hear back. Don’t freak out, you’ll hear back soon! Good luck! Oh and could you chance me? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1253111-chance-me-ill-chance-back.html#post13548947

I’m out of state. NYC

I’d just relax. I’m sure you’ll get in…rutgers is like the universal safety for everyone at my school.

I believe that you have a shot at getting in. It’s not a guarantee, but certainly not out of the question either. Your test scores are sub-par, your academic record isn’t great, and your EC’s could have been a lot better. Rutgers, however, falls within your range. I think your recs/essay will make or break you.

Rutgers does not read recommendation letters though…

My daughter applied to Rutgers Business School both in Newark (to play tennis) and New Brunswick. She received an acceptance from Newark within one week (this was beginning of November) and still hasnt heard from NB.

Her GPA is 4.35
Combined SAT 1100
Top 10% of class

I wouldnt worry about getting in. I think you will. If you have any clubs, activities, sports or community service, they look for well rounded. Your SAT scores are good enough.

I would go with UNH. Much stronger academics there. We live 20 minutes from RU and I can tell you it has a rep for being a huge party school–big on frats. if you have not visited campus yet, you should. Take the shuttle bus to get an idea of travelling between campuses.

Good luck and let me know!!!
