<p>As long as I can't get off of the waiting list at Dartmouth (which is likely), I will be attending the Rutgers Honors Program with a major in English. Hopefully I can keep a great GPA then transfer. Who knows, I may end up saving ~30k a year by going to Rutgers Freshman Year, then transfering to Yale/Dartmouth!</p>

<p>Just a tip. Don't come into Rutgers with the notion that you won't like it and will want to transfer.. you'll be miserable. Get excited to come to college!</p>

<p>its still open i think. Usually if you apply by a June, you can get guaranteed Honors Housing.</p>

<p>Honors bastards, how do you get into the honors program? I'm asking for my DD, who's a sophomore. Is there a special application, or do you do the regular application and then they invite you for honors if you qualify? Can you be in the honors program with any major--for example engineering (at the School of Engineering) or computer science? </p>
<p>The Rutgers website is not very helpful on this--they just talk about what a great program it is. Thanks for any help!</p>

<p>I don't know if you know this, but Rutgers is currently undergoing a large restructuring-- all undergraduate liberal arts colleges are going to be combined into one School of Arts and Sciences. This means that instead of having a Rutgers College, Douglass College, and Livingston College Honors Program, there will be only one general Honors Program. </p>
<p>So, although there is currently no seperate application for the Honors Program at Rutgers College, the whole process will most likely change... you'll have to wait and see :). By the time your daughter applies, however, the new honors program will have been in place for one year.</p>
