Hey guys. I am wondering if any of you know any students at Rutgers who wants to give up their housing spot. I am currently on the housing Waitlist and I'm scared I won't have a place to live next semester. If you know anyone who plans to drop out, move off campus, or plan to commute, please let me know. I have taken someone's spot before and all it takes is an email to housing with your name and RUid. I am very desperate and would like a place to live next semester. Thanks!

isaac are you a continuing student or a transfer?

Regardless, I think that everyone will eventually get a spot on campus if they want one. It may not be your first choice, but you will be on a campus.

Also try posting on Resident Knights or several of the Rutgers Accepted Class of 201x fb pages. People are always arriving and leaving at Rutgers, especially at the beginning and end of semesters so the housing situation is always changing.

I’m going to be a continuing student. I spoke with housing today and they told me that they’re giving transfer students more of a priority than continuing students. I am going to be a junior and this is my toughest year, so it’s imperative that I have a place to stay on campus.

As I said, check those pages I posted above as people post looking for roommates/looking to give up housing.

As it gets closer to Sept and bills are due, people will inevitably drop out or change their housing plans. I assume you are male, but on the Class of 2015 page there is a female looking to replace her spot in Rockoff. I didn’t look at other pages but you should check them as well.

I am an incoming first year student at Rutgers Newark. I applied for housing on July 28 and was put on the housing wait list. What are my chances of receiving housing ?

I’m not familiar with Newark housing. Maybe give them a call and ask them the same question.
