I may be attending RBS New Brunswick next year, and I have a few questions about the placement test. I scored above a 600 on critical reading so I’m exempt from the english portion of the placement test, what position does that put me in involving course selection (like am I automatically placed in a specific course?).
In regards to the math portion, I haven’t taken the AP Calc test, so technically I’m not exempt from the math portion, but I already received a 740 in math level II SAT, and currently have a 98 unweighted avg in AP Calc (AB), do you guys think that if I call I can work something out?
If anyone knows the specific department I should call please let me know! I can find it myself if necessary but thanks in advance!
For English, you’re automatically placed in Expository Writing. As for math, sorry but no matter what you do, you can’t be exempt for it. Unless you took the AP Calc exam your JUNIOR year and got a 4 or 5. But since you’re taking it this year, you have to take the placement test for math. I hear it’s not that bad so dw about it, especially if you’re good at math.
Yea the math placement test isn’t too bad. I went back to school after a few years and didnt take a math class since high school and still managed to get into the 2 semester pre calc class, so based on the info you’re supplying, I think you should be able to get into the 1 semester pre calc course at the very minimum, but i think you canmore than likely get into calc.
