I was excepted to both Rutgers New Brunswick School of Biolgical Sciences and Arts and Sciences. I very much would like to live on Cook Campus (my brother attends Rutgers and I have visited all the campuses many times and this is just the one for me) so what is the best way to help my chances? I will be a history major so I will need to be in Rutgers SAS, BUT if I join the SEB school which is located on Cook, will that put me on Cook? Then I could just transfer schools? Any info will be appreciated

BUT here is another but, I am missing my first semester due to military training, so does that mean I will be thrown where ever is open even if I am at first granted the housing I want? Again, any info will be appreciated.

To be honest, the hassle of switching schools wouldn’t be worth it in my opinion. If you want to be a history major, depending on what kind of classes you want to take, most of them will be on the College Ave Campus (with a few on Cook/Douglass campus). The bus ride from college ave to cook/douglass during rush hour takes around an hour, where walking would probably be faster, lol.

I do believe SEBS gets a little more choice in living on cook/douglass campus, but it is easier to get housing on Cook/Douglass than a few other campuses. It’s not everyone’s #1 choice. As far as missing the first semester, I’m not entirely sure.

Thanks, and yes I know if the switching schools in too taxing I will just stay in the one I start in. I guess I just need to call them.

cook will be very easy to get housed on. normally, it’s one of the campuses that people get “stuck on” when they apply for housing late.

check out the facebook group for Rutgers to help find a roomate
