So I've been accepted into both for engineering and I'm happy with both schools. I was wondering what the nightlife for each school is like? (Partying, etc.) And before you all attack me for this question, I'm not basing my decision of this at all. I'd just like to know everything I can about both schools. I'm a girl from NJ if that helps at all.

Rutgers nightlife is based mostly on College Ave, which has all the frats and many people living off campus. So from Thursday through the weekend, there are many frat and house parties going on. There are also some bars in New Brunswick, but your nightlife is mostly going to be based on these parties. At frats, there is a ratio to get in (typically 5:1 or 3:1, could be even higher) and the guys also pay. So as a girl, you will get in easily and usually not pay; guys need to bring 3 girls at the minimum. House parties can vary greatly: ratio or no ratio, only guys pay, everyone pays, etc.

The Rutgers buses are a sight to behold at night on the weekends, honestly one of my favorite things about Rutgers. You’ll see a few commuter students trying to get home, but the rest of the bus is packed to the brim with drunk kids going to parties. Someone will usually start a chant and the whole bus gets in on it. All part of the Rutgers pride. Finally when the bus reaches College Ave, you have the mass exodus of people stumbling down the street. At this point, the Grease Trucks are usually packed. It’s one big hot mess.

tl;dr if you want to party, you can pretty much every day except Monday lol. The 20k you save in tuition also feels great.
