Rutgers NB vs. University of Pittsburgh

I've narrowed down the 11 schools I got into down to the University of Pittsburgh Dietrich School of Arts and Sciences, and Rutgers New Brunswick, either the School of Arts and Sciences or The School of Environmental and Biological Sciences (SEBS).

I'm definitely thinking about going to med school after graduating, and I want a school with a sense of community, great research opportunities, great volunteering opportunities, and great internship/job opportunities. These two schools offer all of that, and the price is NOT A HUGE FACTOR in my decision. Although I live in NJ, I got more scholarship/financial aid from Pittsburgh, so aftter calculating everything, my total cost per year for each school would be:

Pittsburgh: $17,823
Rutgers: $14,635

The 3,000 dollars is NOT a big deal for me at all, so I'd rather leave price out of the picture. Also since I live in NJ (45 Mins from Rutgers) I would be going home more often, so the gas money/bus money/etc. would probably end up being close to a couple thousand a year anyway, making up for any price difference.

I love being in a city, so Pittsburgh is great. Yes, Rutgers is close to NYC, but again, I live in NJ so I've been in NYC a million times so there's nothing new to me there. I love new experiences and being 6 hours away from home in Pittsburgh would help me branch out and become independent and a more complete person away from my family.

So my question comes down to which university offers a better experience and will give ME more experience in my field and will allow me to be competitive in my search for a good medical school. I am a hardworking student so the difficulty of the schools will not be too tough for me, and it is important to me to get at least a 3.7 GPA through college and maintain a social life.

I want to be successful in life and my college decision is the first step. Any advice? Thanks!
