Apparently honors stuff came out for Camden. NBewark should be next then NB!
how many extra days is that
Got Honors acceptance today… They say merit would come within a week.
@angeltalk congrats you got into Honors Program or Honors college? Check the Honors portal Link and see what is states. Here is a URl for the difference between the 2:

My son got into the SAS honors Program thru RBS.
Just got my SAS honours invitation. Looks like merit aid notifications will be out soon too
@CS_Parent when i log in, it says three entries for each of the three schools. Under Honors Invitation Column, it says Honors College… I am assuming that it is Honors College and not School based Honors programs?
I didn’t get into the Honors College or Program, is there a big difference between honors-students and regular students? In terms of careers and opportunities?
btw congrats to everyone who got in!! Well done!!!
I didn’t get any notification for any honors program/college though email, does this mean that I didn’t get in? Some people told me to wait for a few more days. I do not mean to sound arrogant at all, but I just thought I would be able to get into at least SAS honors program.
Hello All, here are some FAQS:
- Top 8% get an invitation to Honors College thru either of the shools ie RBS, SAS etc. If you get Honors college invitation thru any of these schools, you will need to accept Enrollment into THAT particular school which invites you for Honors College.
- Next 8% get Invitation to Honors program in Particular schools ie SAS Honors Program either thru SAS or RBS or School Of Engineering has its Honors Academy. Once again you will need to accept Enrollment into that particular school which sent you invite for Honors Program.
- Hope this explains…Congrats to all those who got into either 1 or 2 or even got into Rutgers itself!!
The invites are still pending so others please have patience.
@angeltalk yes its honors college so accept it thru your top choice school…anyways you will end up in the same honors college whichever invite you choose but just in case you want to drop out then your Top Choice will be your cushion!
@rutgersalltheway HI it doesnt matter much but mayeb give slight edge during internships etc to say Honors…else Rutgers degree itself is valuable and renowned.
I just called Rutgers, and they keep giving me a link to the honors login, where it indicates No Honors Record found. I am very confused because they said that all of the emails had been sent but a friend of time told me it might take a couple of days to update. I would be very disappointed not to make it with a 1520 SAT and top stats in my school
Not to come across the wrong way @iiRoMii but you might’ve not gotten into the HC if you don’t see it posted. What were the schools that you applied to? Don’t think that stats are the only thing that goes into HC because it really isn’t, and I myself can vouch for that. Your stats are beyond incredible, but from what I’ve gathered it’s very subjective to each school that you have applied to. It also depends upon how competitive the school itself is. I know a girl who most definitely should have been a contender for HC or AT LEAST the honors program and she received nothing as did you. And then there’s me, I had a 1300 and a 3.96 UW (4.46 W) and I was invited into the honors college through SEBS, and honors program through SAS. Now don’t assume based off of my SAT “Well total idiots can get in” because I’ve taken all honors and APs since my sophomore year (freshman year I placed into regular classes because I didn’t do well on the exam, I have really bad test anxiety so my scores don’t reflect my academics) and I’ve had A’s and A+’s throughout high school (my lowest grade on my transcript is a B+ that was a point away from being considered an A). My advice is to wait it out a few more days, wait for your scholarship information and if you still receive nothing give them a call asking what’s going on. Best of luck!
@iiRoMii all the Honors invites are out, there will be no more. I looked at your stats, and they do look quite impressive. Certainly should have qualified you for the Honors College or at least one of the honors programs. Not sure if they have rules against accepting “international students” (people who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents) into the honors. Perhaps you didn’t make the 12/1 deadline?
Anyway, you may want to contact the admissions, and try to find out the reason. On the plus side, the Merit is not necessarily tied to getting into the honors programs. You may yet get a decent financial aid + merit package. Wait till the financial packages come out within a week or two.
@porkupan @kat2023 thanks guys, I called Rutgers and it seems that I was just simply not admitted. I can’t seem to find a reason for it, but thats ok, hoping on some decent financial aid and merit. I just can’t figure out why I was not given an invite, because if (at least for the honors program) it goes on a percentage basis (top 8%, top 7%) and all of my friends who had lower sat scores and GPA’s than me received an invite, it doesn’t even make any statistical sense for me not to have received one.
@iiRoMii I have similar stats and wasnt even invited to the honors program… it really is heartbreaking. I have friends with similar stats who got in :’(
@iiRoMii @Zahhhhra I’m sorry to hear that you guys didn’t get accepted. I know it sucks but I hope you know that you’re both incredibly intelligent people who will succeed regardless of labels placed on you from a university. Graduate with the highest of honors possible at any school you attend and prove those admissions counselors wrong!
Does anyone know when the merit aid for Rutgers comes out?
@angeltalk I believe very soon, no clue when. Financial aid portal can now be logged into, however the award letters are not up (and almost all portals are claiming to require more infortmation). It also only lets me view one school, will see if this changes after award letters are officially released.
