Rutgers, New Brunswick VS Stony Brook Computer Science

I got accepted to both. I am an international student from Bangladesh. Which one should be the better choice considering CS only? Btw, I have 0 programming skills and got accepted to pre-CS (AOI) in SBU.
Also, how are the people at both places? I don’t want to stick to my own ‘race’. I think I’ll like to have an active social life in College. Its not that I am looking for a party school or anything. I just don’t want to go to a place where people are …racists in these tough times :stuck_out_tongue:

Rutgers has a good CS program. Students are very diverse. It is easy access if you want to go to Philadelphia or NYC. Lots of clubs and opportunities to meet people.

Rutgers is rated higher for computer science than Stony Brook.

According to this information from US News and World Report, Rutgers is the most diverse campus in the country: http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-colleges/rankings/national-universities/campus-ethnic-diversity

They are very proud of this and boast about it during information sessions to prospective students (S attended).
I think the social life will be what you make of it. With over 400 clubs and a Big Ten football team, there is definitely plenty to take advantage of on campus.

My son is considering Rutgers for CS also.
Good luck with your decision.
