Hey, I will be attending Rutgers - Newark in the fall and am wondering if there is an actual social scene?
I am also curious as to whether there are parties being that NJIT and Rutgers are within blocks of each other. I would imagine it to be relatively lively or am I mistaken??? Thanks in advance!
Yes, there’s a decent social scene. Not sure about Rutgers - Newark, but NJIT has its own fraternity row. Even students from other schools in the area like Montclair State come down to Newark to party.
Rutgers Newark has its own frat row as well, most of the frats for Rutgers Newark & NJIT are on MLK Blvd.
Yes students from Montclair & some other school come down to party.
The parties are easier to get in than New Brunswick (NB is strict about the guy to girl ratios), but they’re not as wild as the ones at New Brunswick
As monchan said, it’s a decent social scene, but it’s more of a commuter campus when compared to New Brunswick.
Do you have any other questions about Rutgers Newark?
@ASJackson923 Thanks! And I have three more questions.
- Do NB and Newark have joint parties or anything of the sort? Like do the two campuses ever interact with each other at all? 2. Is the school LGBTQ+ friendly? 3. Best place to study on campus?
Thanks in advance!
I’ll be attending Rutgers-Newark too this fall!! @seekerofentrance. Me and my dad walked around the campus, and it was beautiful. Broad Street looked very clean and nice to walk around. Can’t wait!!
