Rutgers OOS transfer?

So, I applied to some schools this spring, got some acceptances (Tulane, Howard) and a rejection too (NYU), but still opted to continue in a Kansas City community college for one more year and try again in 2008.

I'm mostly interested in Rutgers (New Brunswick) and other east coast and Mid Atlantic schools. Maybe U. of Mary Washington and maybe even College of William and Mary.

Some stats:

Pros: GPA 3.8 (now but still fall semester to go before applying again...), Phi Theta Kappa, Dean's List twice, Honors program, some ECs, trying to get into the school senate this fall

Cons: OOS, white male, no SATs.

So what are my chances at Rutgers, and any other suggestions? Thanks.

Rutgers is a numbers game... so the higher the GPA the better. If u maintain that GPA i am certain that you will get in.

you shouldn't have ANY problem getting into rutgers as a transfer.
i know people with gpa's from 2.8-3.2 get accepted. no worries at all for you.

Thanks for the replies. Any other school suggestions? Would I have a shot at UMich?

To The Top! :)

with a 3.8, you should have a GREAT chance at any of the top public universities except for cal and ucla because they prefer cali residents.

Rutgers is rolling, you should apply for the spring rather than the fall. I think you have a great shot. If you don't get in for the spring, re-apply for the fall.

Chance me for UMich and Johns Hopkins, please!!!!

you should get into umich lsa without a problem.
hopkins will be more difficult to gain admission, but im not sure they admit spring transfers.

I'm not applying to transfer before next spring for fall 2008.

Bumping this thread back up from the basement. More "chance me", and school suggestions, please.

Anyway, so I have Comp I and II done, math up to Calc I and Stats, Chem I, taking Chem II next spring. And currently volunteering in an American Indian organization.

On a side note, are liberal arts colleges great with financial aid and scholarships? (I know they're pretty damn expensive...)

I'm white and going to Rutgers. I feel like a minority and I've lived around a lot of diversity my whole life. Rutgers has a lot more blacks and asians and indians now. maybe it just were i am around.

but yeah you got a good chance at rutgers. its funny though. I want out of rutgers and you want in.

Hey, may I ask why you'd want to transfer out of Rutgers? And also, are you on the NB campus or the Newark or Camden one?

Bump again.

My GPA dropped to 3.5 but I did take ACT and got 28 on it.

So I ended up applying to:

College of William and Mary
University of Virginia
University of Maryland-CP
University of Pittsburgh
University of Mary Washington
Rutgers-NB
Howard
Tulane

Last chance me pleaaase! :)
