Rutgers or Penn State

Rutgers-NB with half-tuition covered or Penn St- UP with none?

what state are you from?

if your out of state for psu...i WOULD never ever ever pay 35 thousand a year to go there..but thats just my opinion

thanks.......NJ

hah me too!

up until this year i was positive id go to rutgers

then i got into cmu and mcgill...and everything changed

lots of my friends are going to rutgers...it a great school

i got in...i dont know how much that says...lol....but its not too hard if your in state

sat
math-760
verbal-620
writing-750

gpa
uw-3.8
w-4.26

sat 2s
math ic-730
bio-660

oh no it was a safety for me. i have friends with like 2.9 gpas and sat scores of 1500 (new sats) that got in...so dont worry!

did you take sats or psats how did you do? are you a junior?

thats good! and you can always take them one more time senior year...i took them 3 times and went up alot! my first try i got 1960 and the last time i got 2130

i am devastated: my stats: 2040, GPA:3.67, but, got rejected from NYU Stern's and JHU. i wished i applied to Lehigh, UIUC, or Vanderbilt, but now...............it's too late..........is there anything i can do now?

is that all you applied to? you can consider transfering after a year?

yeah, unfortunately, i only applied to 4 schools, + got rejected from my two reaches, and only got into my two safties. About transferring: i heard it was very complicated.

its not easy but its not as hard as its made out to be

try hard next year and apply to a few schools..and if you get into your dream school...im sure youll manage to transfer somehow

the pressure wont be as bad because youll already be at some college but its kinda like going through the college process all over again so it turns alot of people off

also you may lose some credits in the process

but if its something you want. its far from inpossible

thank you, i guess transferring is my only option at this pt.?

unless you want to take a year off :) ahhhh my dream...lol

just out of curiosity, what part of nj are you from?

Edison................

and..........if we take a yr. off, what would happen?

nothing.....you will be a straighout flat rejectee who only got into penn state like me

oh lots of people take a year off...and do something meaningful like get a job to save up for college or travel...you can also retake sats during that year and such...and simply apply for college the next year...its a really great thing to do but most parents are against it and its not great if you are looking to graduate as early as possible...but it does provide alot of oppurtunities to improve your application and get experience
