Hi, I'm trying to decide whether to go to Rutgers for pharmacy or for their SAS Honors Program. I want to go the pre-med path. I'm not really interested in pharmacy, but I've heard that it's a great back-up plan in case I decide to change my mind. However, I've also heard that the honors program is a great choice, and that they have really nice dorms, which would definitely be a plus.

Suggestions please?

Depends on how much you’re uninterested in pharmacy.

I was accepted to the SAS w/ Honor Program and a scholarship but I turned it down for the pharmacy program. I’m not into pharmacy that much (it wasn’t necessarily my first thought), but I’m more enthused for it than you may be and hence my decision.

Hi! I am having the same dilemma now and would like to know your decision? I am really, really interested in the honors program but the problem is I am not exactly sure what career path I would eventually have yet. (I thought it would be something with business or engineering or even computer science…) But I really want to be in the honors program…
I picked the pharmacy school as of now because I thought it would be harder to transfer into the pharm school than any other school?.. But not being to able to participate in the honors program really makes me upset…

How do you like the pharmacy school and the career path you have made in general? Or did you choose the honors program and how do you like that?

Any feedback would be much appreciated! Thanks!

i’m currently in the honors program and it’s cool because of the opportunities to meet professors. It’s a cool opportunity but you can also get in later on if you have a good GPA

@nbafan135, thanks for your response! Do you know if we can transfer to the SAS honors sophomore year if we are enrolled in the pharm school freshman year?
