@gofunkymama- thank you congratulations to your daughter by the way!

@herozero1234- did i say anything at all in my post to sound rude or otherwise condescending about the amount of money i was awarded? i was merely expressing my surprise at the fact that a scholarship which, historically, has been awarded purely based on numbers, was not in this instance solely based off of numbers. you might want to clean up your language and stop being quite so obnoxious. i’m not in any way being “unappreciative” of the amount of money i received but based off of the students that i know and their experiences with rutgers i was surprised and i was searching for answers. in addition, i have every right to be affronted, unappreciative, or otherwise negative if i choose to be so. it’s a free country and you have zero right to tell me how to act or conduct myself. i was born and raised in NJ, and most of my peers and friends and i were all raised with the implicit assumption that if we worked hard in class, scored well, and stayed in-state, we would have the financial safety of Rutgers to fall back on if we could not afford other schools. to have that financial safety suddenly not exist is quite shocking and were it you in my position i can guarantee that you would not be as calm and accepting of it as i am. am i glad that i was offered at least some money? yes. but does it help me? no, because i can’t attend rutgers unless i have a full scholarship therefore having some scholarship money offered is a compliment but unhelpful to me.
