Since the fed. loans and grants could be used for the entire cost of attendance, is it possible to use the Refund Check that Rutgers gives for Used Online books, or bus fare to go to Rutgers?

Yes, I believe so. Getting to and from school is part of the expense of going to school. Also, going home on breaks when the school is closed; Thansgiving, Christmas, and Spring breeak.

the refund check can be used on thing educational i believe, you just have o be able to justify it as educational

there has been a change with the refund check. now, if it is under 500, u will get a gift card or something to the ru bookstores to use it for books, unless u opt out online. i suggest u check it out for yourself at studentabc.rutgers.edu

no its something like if its over 500, ur allowed to use 500 of it to get a gift card only if u click that button.

If your financial aid refund is greater than $500, $500 of your financial aid refund will be automatically transferred to a RU Book Fund Account for your convenience. This account can be used at the University’s bookstores located at Ferren Mall in New Brunswick and on Livingston campus in Piscataway. Books can be purchased from August 29th through September 11th. Any monies not used at the bookstore from your RU Book Fund account will be refunded back to your student account after September 11th.

You may cancel your enrollment at any time through September 11th, by clicking the “I do not want $500 of my refund transferred to my RU book fund account” button below

Make sure you go in and change it though! The option to have the book fund is automatically selected, you have to go in and change it if you want all of the money to go to you.

is a refund check when you decline a financial aid award?(like a loan)

A refund check is the money you get back if your financial aid is more than the term bill… so if your term bill is $6,000 and your aid is $7,000, you’ll get a check for $1,000 to cover books or whatever else you need.
