What are my chances of getting into rutgers New Brunswick school of arts and sciences.
I go to a private school and I am a nj resident. I am a white male.
Gpa: 3.0
Sat:1740
Math:590
Reading:620
Writing:530
I also have taken honors and ap classes throughout highschool

Please help

Nope, have to have at least 3.5 for NB however you are good for Newark and Camden! Sat also too low have to have no less than 1850 for NB preferably more! Most successful applicants have 3.5 GPA and 2010 sat.

Even for arts and sciences?

Ok I got this from Rutgers official website - avarage GPA 3.5-4.0, sat 1750-2010 so you are on the bottom 5%! Rise your GPA and sat or go to some other college have 4.0 GPA and then transfer. You can still try to apply however chances are pretty slim. Rutgers New Brinswick is a nationally ranked school which makes it hard to get in. Also it’s art and sciences program in ranked 30 in the nation. Best of luck!

Just so you know, that thing that is says on the website about the average GPA they take, that’s out of a scale of 4.5. Not 4 like usual. So according to Rutgers your GPA isn’t a 3.0, but more like a 3.3/3.4. I mean I’m applying with a 3.0-3.1 GPA on their scale and 1840 sat so why not at least try?

alright thankyou that gives me a little more confidence

Is there a grade curve for when an A is a 92-100

It’s out of 4.0 not 4.5, almost no colleges use 4.5 system they use 4.0 instead. If you don’t believe me look up rutgers admissions GPA grading key it is out of 4.0! Also if you guys want your gpa to look higher than it actually is why wont you then look at 5.0 gpa scale, it makes both of your GPAs look exactly 4.0. You can always apply but remember your application is nothing more than a piece of paper with your data brith on it. I would also apply to rutgers Newark and Camden if I was you, they are easier to get into.
