Hi,
I was just wondering when Rutgers would be sending there scholarships out or if they already sent them out. Also i was wondering how they would be sending them, weather through email or mail or something else.

Thanks

I was also wondering about scholarships. This is the information Rutgers provided on their website: “Beginning in January, students who qualify for a scholarship will be notified. Applicants admitted after January and who may qualify for an award are notified usually within three weeks of their admission.”

From what I see from posts last year, people began receiving awards on Jan. 5, and years prior to that, Rutgers began scholarship notification in December. Hopefully, they’ll send out the scholarship notification soon.

Has anyone heard anything about the Presidential Scholarships this year? Apparently, it’s getting more competitive every year.

Do they send out Presidential notifications before other scholarships? Or is everything on one date?

Everything gets sent out at once. Awards should appear online first.

I just talked to someone at Rutgers. He said that scholarships will start going out in February. He also said that they were trying to work on admissions/acceptances before scholarships and that he is not aware of any scholarships going out as of yet.

I don’t know how reliable this information is, but it is what he told me.

Rualum thanks for the information and do you know where online ?

IT’S OUT!!! There’s a new link on my admissions page, but no updates yet. All it says is, “Congrats on your scholarship!”

Got the Presidential Scholarship to SAS and RBS, Trustee for SEBS woot woot

Wait…this is ridiculous…I got $13,000 for both SEBS and SAS, but a $3500 Scarlet for Engineering…

Should I call them?

@liquescent - if you don’t mind me asking, what were your stats? I honestly thought I was a lock for the $16,000 Trustee, but borderline for Presidential due to my grades.

sure!
SAT I: (superscore after 2 sittings) 2330 - 800 CR, 800 M, 730 W
SAT II: Math II (740) Chinese w/Listening (780) Biology (760)
GPA: 4.89 W (sorry, no clue what it is UW, but 5.6=A+ for Honors/AP and 4.6=A+ for all other classes - if that helps put it into perspective)
Rank: 7/497

@liquescent -

It’s crazy how similar our stats are…
SAT: 2330 single-sitting → 760 CR, 770 M, 800 W, 11 essay
SAT IIs: 760 Math II, 800 US History
GPA: 3.85 UW, 5.28 W (weighted is out of 6, but almost no one ever gets a perfect), all honors/ap classes
Rank: top 10%, but school doesn’t rank

If I don’t see anything new in the online services page, does that mean I didn’t receive one? ):

Of course scholarships come out when I finally call and post that :/

For those who aren’t seeing anything: the person I talked to made it seemed like scholarships would be going out over a time period rather than all at once.

A lot of people apply to Rutgers as a backup, so it is very competitive. I would guess that you need SAT M & CR >1500 and GPA near perfect to get one of the top scholarships. My opinion only.

variable is SOE your top choice? If so, I would call and speak to someone at SOE regarding your scholarship. I don’t know if they would do anything, but your stats seem high for the amount you got. What did you list as your GPA on the Rutgers application when you sent it in?

A lot of people apply to SOE with very high stats.

I got Presidential with:

34 on ACT (35 superscored)
12/432 in class
4.9 weighted GPA
3.97 UW GPA

I got the Carr Scholarship for SEBS! National Scholarship Program for SAS!
3.89 GPA
29 ACT

Scarlett for SAS, 3500 a year

2220 SAT
4.9 Weighted GPA

Does that seem a bit low?

^Wow, I got 10k and comparable stats

Yeah, jmvm that does seem low. It doesn’t hurt to call and inquire.

@rualum

Thank goodness SOE is not my top choice. I was actually split between SAS and SEBS and was planning to enroll in whichever I got a better scholarship in. I listed my weighted GPA as 5.28 and my individual unweighted gpas for each year. I already emailed admissions and am probably going to call them, but I know I didn’t get a Presidential or a $16,000 Trustee because of my gpa and class rank.
