I was too in that NOP lecture. Mr. R was a good guy, he actually cared about the students. But like you said 500 STUDENTS! Ridiculous! And when there was that class incident, crazy!! But I must admit, Rutgers has been a let down, I am transferring after spring semester. Socially its alright, academically its okay, but deans/faculty are horrible. The RU SCREW IS REAL! And when you get it, you will wish you were never a rutgers student.

Wow, is the social life really dead on the Camden campus Jerzee Boy?

Come to New Brunswick! There is usually stuff to do on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays -- although the campus does tend to seem dead on Sundays =

does anyone have any information for transfer housing? when does a transfer apply for housing? and how? and if so where they get into?

any information would be awesome! :D

Lol, MushaboomBlue. Just wanted to say I live in Metzger this year in a corner room as well.

hmm I am wondering who mushaboomblue and lurker are lol. Wanna tell me what floor you guys live in. I live in Metzger too.

How is the social life on the Newark campus? Someone already said that on the Camden campus that it's pretty much non-existent.

Avoi Cook/Douglass if you are a science/pharmacy/engineering major because most of your classes will be on Busch/Livingston and the bus ride can be really bad.

what about the newark campus?
do you know what that place is like?

3rd floor. I don't really talk to people though. I just go to class, go to my room, and stay in there so you probably don't know who I am. I'm pretty much the antisocial person on this floor, haha.

second floor

lol 2nd floor has the 2 best looking girls and 3rd floor theres this big black track dude i'm cool with im sure u know who he is

I also just got into NB honors program at rutgers, and although i have applied to more prestigious schools i am thinking i might end up there for the same reason as everyone else (money.. or lack of money). Anyway, i love partying. I as wondering if the people in the honors dorms are more "geeky" than the average dorms and have lamer parties. Also, like everyone else i am looking for the biggest rooms shared with the least amount of people. What are the social-est, party-est, and all around best HONORS dorms?

that would be brett, my friend. on college ave. It's definitely the most social, and from what I hear, their parties are not quite as lame. I'm sorry, I'm not a huge partier; you know, I frequent the occasional frat/house party. My friends/floormates (who live in my honors dorm with me) do party though and they like brett so much they are going to move there next year.

and yes, people are more geeky because you know, school and academia are important to them, but I think they're just as fun. They work hard, play hard, you know?

Are there a lot of Africans at Rutgers? I'm Nigerian and I am curious.

I was just accpeted to the Pharmacy school yesterday btw, thats why I ask. I want to live amongst a very diverse group of people, but i also want to live amongst people similar to me.

I want to lean towards choosing housing on Cook/Douglass, but the only problem is that since you are a student at the Pharmacy school, Busch is a bit farther away from Cook/Douglass. This isn't really a problem considering you have the buses here (for future reference, you would take the "REXB" bus from Cook/Douglass --> Busch). And perhaps it would be best to make sure that you leave your dorm 30-40 minutes early so that you aren't late for class.

There's nothing wrong with Busch, but the diversity is "eh" on this campus. Not to be mean, but the population largely consists of Asians (Chinese, Korean, Indian, etc.). But you do see a share of other backgrounds here.

And if I'm not mistake, there is an organization of African students here at Rutgers called "TWESE". So perhaps if you really want to find other African students, you should check that club out during the Fall Involvement Fair in early September.

I see a lot of african americans on campus. especially in busch near the apartments because the football team lives there. rutgers is very diverse, but the races only talk to themselves if you know what i mean

Deans and professors care, you just have to sacrifice two arms and a leg in order to get there. Your spare leg and your head are used for walking to the closest library and studying the material. Rutgers students will claim it's hard to stay in for the four year haul. But this could be due to the fact that most students weren't of strong caliber to begin with or had good enough study habits. This school is best defined as an institution for people who work hard and are okay with being ****ed by the administration over and over again.

Btw, our President is a corrupt ******* who doesn't care about academics. He was fired from Washington University for an illicit scandal and our University stupidly invited him to become our President.

That is the most unusual user name I've seen on here so far. I didn't think it was possible. How do I even address you???

What the heck does McCormick do all day anyway? Just out of curiosity. I almost knocked into him a month or two ago when I was going into the Rutgers Student Center. He just said "Hi".

on busch, you just noticed a higher percentage of asian people than on the other campuses. White still dominate the student population.
I think Cook/Douglass isn't a bad campus for pharmacy, as long as you have your classes there. The pharm admin schedule you your first semester, and they put my C/D friend in all livingston classes, one as early as 8 o'clock so he didn't even have time for breakfast. If that happens to you, you should take advantage of the add/drop period and switch to cook/douglass courses. Your Chem, Chem Lab, Expos, Calc should all be offered on Cook/Douglass. I'm not sure about Bio though.
The only problem is that they like to put the pharm freshies in the same Chem and Bio class (Livingston and Busch, respectively).
