Rutgers Spring 2010 Transfers!

Post here if you're transfering going to apply to transfer to rutgers spring 2010!

List your high school stats/sats/college stats/credits and university your attending!

Spring 2010 applications are not up yet, but should be soon!

I’m Applying. Taking 17 credits this semester so I should have 35 or so. 3.567 GPA.

What school are you going to apply to joho? What are your stats? R u and OOS?

I’m applying to rutgers SAS for econ major with math minor. I’m coming from a community college with 27 credits already done and 13 more in process during the fall. I currently have a 3.72 gpa. My high school stats are horribly low. =(

i really hope I get in

Im applying alsooo spring 2010. As of now I have 32 credits… 4.0 gpa in state… Hs was uhh on the low side so id rather not mention lol… Sats were 1975 though. But I don’t need to send them in. I just slacked off a lot in hs =/ . Which I regret. And to the post above me what was your hs gpa.? Somewhere on this thread someone said there hs gpa was about 2.0 and college 3.2ish and they got in sas. Im applying to nb-nursing as my 1st choice second nb-school of environmental science & 3rd choice SAS… When are you guys applying exactlyy?? Oh btw by the time I get into rutgers (if I do, fingers are crossed) I will have 50ish credits. Taken 9 now and 8 next semester and maybe 3 during my winter break.

I meant 18* next semester

oh hi, i just saw this thread and i read it, i am not applying in fall 2010, bit i read the “fall 2009 transfer” thread and i saw some one post they were going to apply to nb nursing sadly thy did not get in, but you should check to see their stats and that might make you feel better.

good luck to all

Meema - Just so you know, the nursing program only accepts applications for the fall semester (I finished CC in December and had to take the spring semester off because of it)

Unfortunately I was waitlisted and then eventually denied admission, but your gpa is a lot better than mine! I was the opposite… I had great grades in HS then slacked off my first year in college, which ended up ruining my gpa. I got into SAS with a 3.3, so you’d have no trouble there, obviously. My plan is to finish some nursing general ed requirements and get a good gpa to transfer in next fall.

They only accept about 30 transfer students, but I do think you have a great shot because of your gpa! :-)

Okay… How stupid of me. I knew they didn’t accept nursing students in the spring, yet I said I was going 2 apply 2 the nursing program. Im going to apply to the school of environmental science and try to transfer afterwards. Im also applying to sas just incase I do not get in the other school. *thatsthekey are you applying? What are your stats?. Im working on the essay early and im planning to be one of the 1st ones to apply lol. Do anyone know when applications are up? And sadly, I won’t have a 4.0 gpa after this summer session is over. I just found out I might be getting a B+ =/ in a western lit class I took for fun… Does any1 no if I haven’t took foreign language in hs or college, would I still be able to get in sas? Cuz nursing doesn’t require it but sas does. Buttttt… I never needed any so never took any. So im confused would I get denied because its a general requirement there. (I read that on the rutgers homepage somewhere)…

in my state (NJ) you have to take atleast 2 yrs of a language in HS to graduate. So i am sure any one in NJ fufflied that req.

Heyy I am IN STATE as well. Lol I live in Nj too. But I didn’t need foreign language to graduate. Idk why. In my school it wasn’t a requirement for 2007 to graduate with a foreign language so I never took one. But I do no in my school that in 2008 it became a requirement because my best friend got stuck taking french her senior yr. Well to be on the safe side I guess I should just take a foreign lang next semester. And if I get into school of environmental science it’ll just count towards a humanities credit since you don’t need foreign lang for that program. *omg are you currently in rutgers or planning on applying? And I couldn’t find the thread with the stats for nursing.

Thatsthekey*** I just noticed that you said you are already in rutgers lol. Sorry on an above post I asked are you applying. Do you think my hs transcript would kill me a lot? Do you know anything I could do to up my chances? I plan on writing a really good essay as well.

haha yea, I’m starting this fall in SAS. They probably won’t even look at your hs transcript too much because you’ve completeted so many credits already, and the B+ won’t hurt you at all haha. I can’t speak for SEBS, but SAS is pretty easy to get into… I was terrified when I saw that I didn’t get into the nursing program, but now I’m excited to take some different classes for the year and then hopefully I’ll get in next year!

Just make sure you get everything in on time and you should be fine!

Well thanks for the encouragement. I felt like I seriously wasn’t going to get in. And I spoke with admissions and I guess im going 2 have 2 double up on foreign langs this semester. -_- which is a total waste of time 2 me since nursing doesn’t require them. Well hopefully I get into nursing fall 2010 as well! And hopefully I see u there.

Hey I’m applying for this spring 2010 too. I plan to major in Linguistics and minor in Japanese. I go to Bergen Community College and have completed 23 credits so far. I also have some AP credits, but I just decided to wait until I transfer to get those credits. My gpa is 3.52.
My gpa in high school wasn’t too high(3.7 gpa unweighted). I took some AP classes too. but I was very involved in school (Junior class President, Sophomore class Vice-President, Vice-President of Spanish Honor Society, Varsity Baseball, Peer Leadership, National Honor Society).
I’ve also held steady jobs ever since I was a freshman in highschool and now I hold a management position at my local Gamestop. I also taught myself Japanese throughout highschool and placed at the intermediate level upon entering my freshman year at bcc.

I know I’ve said a lot but I’m just really curious as to what my chances are to get in. Any suggestions?

you didnt say which school your applying too. if SAS im 100% sure your gona get in.
