What college?^

Rennac - You’re GPA won’t be the bad part of your admissions - the only thing I see them rejecting you for is your GPA trend… Might want to call and talk to someone/write a letter to explain them.

iAstonish - Was the F class this term?

BustedBoat - Are you on a quarter system…? That’s the reason they asked for mine. If not, call… they might want a midterm grade report, OR it could have been a famous RU Screw computer glitch.

Crinalina - What are your stats? When did you apply? and lol, a 3.5 will do more than suffice :)

I got it in a pre-math class lol I’m horrible at math, but I’m not applying for anything related to math, so hopefully it won’t be a big deal. I also emailed admissions explaining the mishap.

I just added SEBS to my application and it was updated today. I figured I’d take advantage of being able to apply to more than one college.

iAstonish - Yeah, I’m sure it won’t be a problem… just hearing stories of 3.5 GPA’s getting denied is enough to start a bit of panic…

Good idea - I’m sure the decisions are coming soooooon (well not for me, ugh, but for the rest of you!)

@iAstonish
I think you’ll be alright. A 4.0 will not be overlooked, lol. And good luck to you! what’s your major?
Math isn’t my forte either and I’m considering a biology major.

@lexsi340
Well, I’m in-state, 3.8 right now in community college, 3.8 in high school.
Transferring with my associate’s as a junior
Uh, I applied to SAS and SEBS, both in NB.
Oh, I also applied pretty late. Sometime in January. lol

crinalina - Oh, well you are defiiinitely IN!
And January isn’t late, it’s before priority, you should hear back realllllly soon.

Aw, well, thank you!
Um, it was more towards the end of January, like the end end.
And I wish I could hear back from them like…now. It would lessen my anxiety.
How about you?? When did you apply?

Haha, yeah well 3.8+ (especially with associates) is like the golden ticket to Rutgers…
Yeah, but that’s still before priority! I applied the beginning of January but had to send HS transcripts three times so it wasn’t finished until the 2nd of Feb. It doesn’t really matter because they can’t tell me until I get my “winter” grades in, which won’t come in until the 21st (I am on the dreaded quarter system).
Me too… even though I know most likely I will be going, I still want to hear!! Good luck to you, though ya hardly need it
Are you planning on living on campus?

Crinalina: I got all my documents in on 1/31 lol and that’s still considered priority, so you’re good :p

And I’m looking to major in either Journalism and media studies or Communications at SAS, or Sports exercise science at SEBS.

@lexsi: Yeah, I was paranoid about them not receiving my documents either. But thank you. I hope you get your response soon, too.
And yes, I will live on campus. I wish I could dorm because I tend to get a bit homesick but the commute is too long for me.
Are you dorming as well?

@iAstonish: That’s really good! I’m torn between so many majors and I’m already a junior. I wish I could have figured this all out years ago. The thought of ‘planning my future’ makes me scared. It seems like such a huge responsibility.

oh, sorry, meant to say I wish I didn’t have to dorm since I get homesick.

Didn’t get in with a 3.5 with all those credits?! omg wasn’t expecting that! i wonder what my chances are at this point… been waiting over two months now.

Hey, so I have been considering transferring for awhile, but did not look into great detail about it until now. I was horrified when I found out today that the deadline was February 1st for transfers. However, I did notice it say they do accept late submissions. So I JUST submitted the beginning of my application.

So should I even bother paying the $65.00 fee? I still need to go back and get send my high school transcript (3.5 GPA overall)and my current transcript as well from Mount Saint Mary’s University (3.4 1st semester 15 credits).

Gosh I don’t know what to do…

You’re currently finishing up a second semester right Jro? They might ask for your spring grades…

Yes I am, but I don’t get my grades until the classes are finished. I am doing pretty well so far though. Three A’s and two B’s from my guessing and estimating based off what I’ve seen. I think it’s going to be tough though since I’m trying to squeeze into Fall semester 2011.

My backup plan is montclair by the way… :/

You can always apply and write into admissions explaining that you’re currently enrolled in your spring semester and will have xx amount of credits by whatever date. It’s worth a shot if you’re interested, otherwise they will base it heavily off of your hs grades, which were good, so I don’t see the harm in applying.

Have you visited Montclair yet? It’s a lot different. I visited and was not impressed.

Thanks, I think I’m going to give it a shot, 65 bucks is 65 bucks it’s not like I’m going to die haha. And yeah I visited Montclair… It’s a lot bigger than my current university and it’s an upgrade but I don’t know how much better really. I had a good tour guide and there was some nice things but something just seemed off. I can’t really put my finger on it. It is okay for me but it’s not rutgers haha

Jro2892: You should apply, and pay the fee, because even if you don’t get in, you can re-apply for another term and you don’t have to pay the $65 again. I don’t see good chances for New Brunswick at this point (who knows), but you might get into Newark, or Camden. Housing might be full by the time you get a response, I’m not sure if you’re commuting or not… Good Luck!

Jro - Definitely marginal… you would have had a much higher chance had you applied priority (we’ve have almost identical stats, actually) - so you’re going to have to wait until… about May? Depends on how many people actually matriculate. You might be able to do a midterm report, CALL THEM! Keep us updated :)

Crinalina - Aww, well someday you’ve gotta branch out - this is your chance!! I’m personally moving over 2000 miles, and I’ve never even been to the east coast, sooo you’ve got it pretty easy ;)

Wanna know who got it easy? The people who’ve heard back already lol jk
