What classes did you take and where were you transferring from Astonish?

It was most likely the credits though. Did you have 21 not counting the spring semester?

I did not apply as a senior and I’m in-state.

thats bs. i wonder if they have interview stuff. i got in as a high school senior, and couldnt go bc of family situations and had to resort to cc for a year. and i couldnt take alot of credits bc i was working a full time job. high school grades for a freshman transfer should play a decent role in being admitting.
just my thoughts.

just got accepted to RU! schools of arts and sciences in NB!

Admitted into Rutgers Business School - New Brunswick

GPA: 3.56
Credits: 44, 62 by the end of this semester.
ECs: None.
In State

Boy am I relieved, I had lost all hope in the past few days. Good luck to everyone who is still waiting.

Admitted to NB - SAS & SEBS!! :)

Current freshman at BU. Overall 2.8 GPA (Premed =[) 32 credits after this semester. No clubs or activities at college. Had a very strong high school background though.

Congrats to everyone else who got acceptance!

Wow congrats to all three. Going to be fun next year

iAstonish: I know how it feels, I had a 3.72 GPA, Honors, Community Service, and was going to have an Associates Degree before enrolling + High College GPA and also got denied. I also called and they said they were going to call me within 3 - 5 Business days and they never did. I wonder what’s going on, I’ve seen lower scores getting accepted…

JSTEPH, are you transferring as a business major?

Well I actually got rejected from the NB Business school (wasn’t surprised) because you need to have completed the prereqs in order to get in, and all I took this year was (chem, bio, calc, and writing). For future transfers, if you want to get into the business school, I suggest you take a look at the prereqs or apply to SAS or SEBS and transfer into the business school from there. I’m still unsure if I’m going to continue taking premed because I did so poorly this year, but my backup would be business, preferably international business with a minor in a language.

@Jsteph: did you get denied or put on the waiting list?

iAstonish, PM me if you want the direct line to the Admission’s office. It’s the only way you’ll talk to anyone.

And for everyone talking about the low amount of credits, I’m sorry, there are MANY colleges who don’t want freshman transfers (ie: below 24 credits). These colleges make it very, very clear on their website. I would have never even thought of applying if I had known that… And it’s ridiculous if someone has a stellar HS record AND college record to get denied, I’d understand if we all had 2.8’s or something… but this is along with people getting accepted with under 3.0’s and bad HS’s transcripts. That logic just doesn’t make sense…

&quiestsoul, I am sorry your denial is INSANE. You should appeal. There are people on here with the same amount of credits and significantly lower GPA’s who got in…

@junwon: Denied to NB Business; Accepted to NB SAS and SEBS.

got accepted last night 3.0 from cc with 52 credits into SAS so excited for this fall

Nike5575 acceptance just made it clearer that Rutgers care about amount of credits as well as residency of the applicant

Jsteph, I wouldn’t give up my hope for premed if I were you. What premed courses have you taken so far?
I am transferring for spring 12 and I believe we both have the same prerequisites.
(gen bio I, II, Chem I,II, Orgo I,II, Calc I, and others)

@bottlecap: So far I’ve taken Calc I and Chem I & II. If I do continue doing premed, I’m planning on doing Bio I & II, Calc II sophomore year. Orgo I & II junior year and Physics I & II senior year. I’m taking the MCATs after graduation, instead of during jr or sr year.

Hey JSteph,

I’m nearly identical to you from what you described.

I’ve only taken Calc I, Chem I and II at my CC and wanted to complete the rest of my sciences at Rutgers.

Since you said you are planning to take your other pre-med prereqs during your soph, junior and senior year, what are you planning on taking your first year after transferring into Rutgers?

got accepted to SAS, but waitlisted to business and school of engineering.
97 high school gpa. 1810 SATs, 3.8 at a CC, only have 17 transferrable credits.

so i really dont know if RU looks at amount of credits or whatt

@junwon - I am sorry, but he is proof that something is going wrong here. iAtonish has more credits and a higher GPA.
