They told me that they were sending my file onwards. A man interviewed for like 5 minutes over the phone and he told me that I had passed "the first phase" of the program process.

I recived my interview e-mail from UMDNJ (after calling them and asking if I had been selected) and have my interview tomorrow.

mail4nrs, I strongly suggest that you call Rutgers and ask them of whether they have selected your son or not. The deadline, I assume, for the "first phase" interviews has passed. Most people should be getting notice of their UMDNJ interviews.

A man called my guidance counselor (becuase they didn't have my e-mail) and my guidance counselor called me telling me that they wanted to speak to me right away. I was on leave that day for the TCNJ interview. I called the number and in 5 minutes the guy did an interview on the phone. He was really nice.

Afterwards, he told me that he was forwarding my application onwards. Then, yesterday, I called NJMS to find out if I had been selcted for an interview. A woman called me back and said I was selected. She then asked for my e-mail address and sent a confirmation letter and directions.

umm im confused, can anybody clear this up for me:

i applied to the college of new jersey and its program with UMDNJ, and today i got a letter from NEW JERSEY MEDICAL SCHOOL rather than umdnj for a follow up interview thing...im confused!!! what does this mean??

i got my rejection letter today from umdnj
i had applied thru rutgers tcnj and drew
1430 --> 740 690
720 730 740
3.8
had great extra's... kinda disappointed but w/e

i didnt even get the interview... like i just got a letter from drew saying... "we forwarded ur file to umdnj... they have chosen not to interview u... we dont know y specifically u wont be interviewed"... nd im assuming that umdnj also knows that i applied thru rutgers nd tcnj as well... so... since umdnj rejected me thru drew... they will prolly do the same with rutgers nd tcnj.. oh well... im still prayyyyyyyying that i get into lehigh/drexelmed and rpi/union/amc.... we'll c

hmmm... i called umdnj... they said that even tho i got rejected at umdnj thru drew, i cant STILL be considered for the program thru rutgers and tcnj... they said that each program is evaluated separetly... and that the competition at drew was intense this year [60+ apps for >5 spots]... sooo... atleast there's hope for rutgers nd tcnj.... hope i dint mislead anyone by making this false assertion earlier

Express2nyc, I'm confused by your post. You said that "i cant STILL be considered for the program thru rutgers and tcnj" but yet state that "there's hope for rutgers nd tcnj". Is that supposed to be a "can" instead of "can't"?

Also, I was told by numerous admissions people at various places (including UMDNJ) that either you get into all the UMDNJ programs you applied for or you get into none.

as far as "Also, I was told by numerous admissions people at various places (including UMDNJ) that either you get into all the UMDNJ programs you applied for or you get into none."

hm.... well i called UMDNJ nd spoke with the "director" (or atleast thats wat she calls herself)... nd she told me that each skool is evaluated totally separatly... then i asked her... "ok, since i got rejected from the program thru drew, do i have a LEGITIMATE chance at getting an interview thru tcnj and rutgers?" ... she said... it has happened in the past where kids get rejected at one program but got into others... so0o0o... according to this lady.. it's possible at umdnj

as far as "other med skools"
i know for a fact that AMC and Drexel do theirs completely separatly.... like kids get rejected from lehigh/drexel all the time but will get into the program at villanova/drexel... same deal with union and rpi... u can def get rejected at one skool and accepted at the other

hey guys. i just had my njms interview last week! it was weird because i had my tcnj interview after i got a letter saying i got an njms interview. but none the less im sooo happy!!.. but it was pretty nerve wrecking. the lady i interviewed with was pretty stern and she kept asking me if my parents had any influence on my decision to do medicine. and i couldnt answer some questions about health care and stuff. but this is def the top choice considering its instate.. and fees is like 5000 a year for me. but hopefully it went well. she did say i was impressive. and then told my dad that he should be proud of me. do you think thats a good sign?? has anyone heard from njms?? or know when they're sending out acceptances?

i had my interview too...it was pretty relaxed...I liked the man who interviewed me, he was funny and laid back. He said "I don't think I've ever seen a transcript like yours" and when we reached the academic questionnaire he simply said "We don't need to do this." So, I'm hoping it went well. I also fumbled on some healthcare questions but we mainly discussed how far Newark has come along as a city.
