Rutgers, TCNJ- UMDNJ

anyone else?

Hi!
I also got in...Sadly, I now have a very tough decision to make. Whether to go to Northwestern's HPME or Rutgers' BA/MD. Firstly, I live in NJ - so it's close to home (30 minutes). Secondly, Rutgers is giving me a full ride. I don't know what to do. Any help?

Some other stuff...but can't remember.

Oh yeah - I lived 10 years in New Zealand, but was born in Boston while my Dad was at MIT/Harvard

snd u did not apply harvard?

go hpme.

Wasn't interested in Harvard.

does anyone know how prestigious is the tcnj/umdnj program? is it so hard to get in just because it's cheap for nj residents?

The program is actually pretty prestigious. I was talking to the people accepted last year and the lowest SAT they took for those at TCNJ was 1480. The average was around 1520-1530. PLus, most were ranked first or second in their class. The program is good for financial aid but UMDNJ is a great medical school also. People from the ivies are known to apply there very often.

This is one TCNJ applicant wrote last year:

"Oh, and the clincher for me to go to TCNJ was the match list. They sent the accepted students a list of the past three classes to have graduated from NJMS from all the undergraduate institutions involved in the UMDNJ 7-year BA/MD program, a total of about twenty to twenty-five students per year. The match list was amazing. There were neurosurg, orhto, optho, orthosurg, path, rad, urol, and all at the most competitive hospitals, such as Pitt, Mass General, UPenn, Hopkins, Baylor, Emory, Mayo, Chicago, NY presbyterian, etc..."

PLus, the atmosphere is WAY more relaxed and research opportunities are abundant.

Has anyone gotten rejected from the TCNJ/UMDNJ program yet? I haven't heard anything yet, either from phone/mail/email. Do they call rejections too?

yuppi got rejected sadly! and my interview went well too cuz the lady said she was really impressed by me and things and i live in nj so it would've been cheaper. but yea i think its cuz my sat scores were not as high i gotta 1410 but weirdly i got into all the other med programs i applied to. so now im thinkin vcu.. cuz welli can apply out bak to umdnj for the cheaper med school. so we'll see wat happens. but congrats to u all. and tcnj is a good med program. cuz the undergrad IS SOO EAZY . 3.4 for 3 years.. plus theydont condense anything , they make ur 1st year med school the 4th of college.. so its like.. ur not takin anything extra at all. and umdnj is a lot more clinical then academic. so its very very hands on.. VERY VERY DIVERSE!! and my dad works/ teaches there so wen u go for ur ER rotations!! u'll see him hehe. newayz yea.. soo well good luck 2 u guyz andcongrats

i haven't heard yet.. should i assume rejection?

just wondering...did anyone receive anything in the mail yet?

yup...got the rejections today (i'm in nj)

ditto.. got my rejection today in the mail (in NJ too)

I'm kind of bummed out, but it makes my college decision easier :)

got the acceptance today, seems like everyone will find out today

anyone from ny get a letter?

can the people who got accepted please post their stats, notably sat1, sat2, and gpa. Thx.

See mine above.

SO, who is actually going to enroll in this program?

hydrogen i really hope your not setting the standard, your stats are godly. I'm just hoping my 1520 sat and 4.0 gpa is going to pull me thru since i dont really have those kind of ecs.
