Rutgers Transfer Student here any questions??

hey guys! I started this post a long time ago and have not been back to update! SORRY!! Thank you to all the people who have been helping out with questions! Well I have been at school for about two months now and I must say it is AMAZING!!

I am living in the Newell apartments on Cook campus and its great, I ended up getting really lucky because i thought I was going to be placed into the hotel. Roomates are OK I pretty much have the place to myself which is good because I get alot of work done. I am a Criminal Justice and Sociology major (double major) and Political Science and Eco minor (double minor). I know that may seem like a huge undertaking but a large portion of my classes fit together so I am covering things for several classes with one coourse (double dipping). Not going to lie work is tough but if you take the time to sit down and get it done you will be fine. The proffs. are all pretty easy going people (usually very liberal, which is not my stance, but listen to them babble about Obama and youll be fine). I am in a few LSAT prep classes which are great, if your intrested in checking them out drop me a PM.

As far as going out and partying go its great. My younger brother is a freshmen at Rutgers and we tend to have a much better time at frat parties (which are hard to get into unless you know the tricks of the trade ie:girls, knowing a brother) but the reward of being there is great. While at a frat you have a great time and see the hotter girls on campus because they tend to attend frat parties. (I have seen some boobs and ass at frats because girls tend to be a little looser once the frat boys get em boozed up) Getting a beer at any part is a real hassle. Id say pre-game before you go out and once you get to the party if you can get cose to the keg stay there as long as you can.

I have so much more to say but you gotta see it first hand. Hope this gave a small peek into the world of Rutgers University.

Hey, has any other transfer received a decision?

i just fell through the doubles lottery
im considering a hotel. any opinions?
They arent paying, just not charging extra.
crowne plaza has no refrigerator and microwave, but the other one is temp, and i dont wanna move 2 months in, when some1 drops out.

any suggestions, any1 have a room already (not on douglass) - email me please if you wanna give it up.

I plan on transferring fall of '10. When should I apply? I want to attend the school of engineering. I will have a AS degree in engineering science by then. Do I just apply to the school of engineering, or should I apply to SAS as well?

I just got accepted last night and for anyone that was wondering I will post my grades. I had a 3.73 GPA after 15 credits in college, and am attempting 15 at the moment. I had a 1290 out of 1600 on the SATs and a 1840 out of 2400. I also had to submit my high school transcript and I graduated high school with a 3.45 gpa. I hope this helps anyone who is applying and good luck.

Have you received a response yet, you applied about a week or 2 after me and i still have not heard from Rutgers?

when and where did oyu apply

February…you said you applied sometime in march just wondering if u have heard anything

I found out March 30th that I was accepted…what kind of housing do transfer students get and are the residence halls nice…plus is the parking ok?

is anybody an english major at rutgers nb right now? curious about the major and the workload

i hope i heard sooner. cause the housing lottery is today

what school did you apply to and what were you gpas for hs and colelge
and what year are you

Hey Pjkim14,
If you could please just let me know when you recieve a response that would be great THANKSS!

I’m transfering to RU New Brunswick, and i just talked to the housing office… they don’t guarantee housing for transfers but they say that they do the best to accomadate everyone. No one hears until the first week of August where they will live, which is a little late i think… the hotels she said are saved as a last resort, however i have heard rumors that they will need to use a third hotel to fit everyone.

Hi i am going to a university on new jersey and am hoping to transfer to rutgers in fall of 2011, in my junior year. im just starting out in my college freshaman year. i did bad in my freshman placement test and got put in low classes, but i’m planning to take up summer courses on those to catch up. i’m in msa club, and work, and in the chess club. with a major in biology. will a 3.7 get me in new brunswick. plus my high school credentials were horrible do i have a chance?

If I transfer to rutgers SAS in the fall of 2010 could I then transfer to the business school in the spring of 2010? If so, when would I apply to the business school?

I’m planning on transferring to RU fall2010 too. I’m going to apply for business, SAS, and engineering. my gpa right now is 3.710 with 88 credits. however, it will go down because i got a C in calcI and i think i’m going to end up getting a B in calc2. what do you think my chances are for getting in? or should i post up the classes i took too?

I have a couple of questions… what year did you transfer/what scores do you need to get in… but more importantly i want to know what hte transition was like
does rutgers make it easy for transfers to transition into college? whats the housing like? etc…

hey guys do you know the creditional of a student with a 2.6 GPA transferring and applying to rutgers? What do you think are my chances? What should I do to try to spike up my application??

I literally just received my admission letter into Rutgers/NB (SAS) for Spring 2010 a few days ago, I’m going in as a transfer.

I have a few questions, what are my options for living on campus, and which should I stay at? I would prefer living on College Ave (but i’m clueless as to what are the apt./dorm names?)

I know it is rather late to be able to chose housing, so I might have to commute.

If anyone call fill me in, thanks!
