Rutgers, UConn, or UMass Amherst?

Which offers the best education in biology? Can someone list the pros and cons of each school? I'm having trouble deciding... (I have visited Rutgers and UConn, so yeah...). Also, do any have an advantage over another to getting into med school?

I don't know too much about UConn or Amherst but I know Rutgers is solid. You can't go wrong with a Rutgers education. The same might be true for the other two. I really do not know.

We in MA give state universities pathetic support, unfortunately. They are poorly run and poorly funded. CT, on the other hand, spends BILLIONS on UConn. There was a thread somewhere on this board recently about the upswing in crime and violence at UMass. We don't call it Zoo-Mass for nothing.

D is attending a private university for less $$ than what UMass would have cost, and we're in-state!

Uconn has a brand new stem cell research program in biology at their Storrs Campus.

State schools like UConn also give preference to their own residents for medical school. If you can establish residence while you are an undergrad you will have a major advantage.

Rutgers has a very high admit rate to med schools by bio majors...but it also has a high number of students who drop bio as a major because it is difficult. Don't know about the former for the other 2 schools, but perhaps the latter is similar.

Still need more info...
